Russians are nostalgic for the [real or percieved] benefits of the USSR, and thus they vote for whatever party claims to bring it back (unfortunately it's some unholy mix between nationalism, Stalinism, and social democracy). Shows you how wonderful bourgie. capitalism has beeen for Eastern Europe.

Very real benefits i would say: thousands of russian children homeless in Leningrad (St.Petersburg) alone, decaying housing situation, horrible infrastructure worries, deteriorating health situation with millions infested with aids, undernourishment, over 25% of Russians make less than 120 Euros a month. Russia is once more a third world country.

Well, on an RT video at the time of the Duma elections, one guy wrote 'Everyone i know voted for Communist Party or small opposition' which was the highest ranked comment. Also, even the Russian Communist Party has stated that they were fraudulent elections. The CP got officially 17%, i don't doubt a lot more people want back the glory of USSR.

This could prove that people are up for Stalinist social-democracy! :)

Well, "communists" got elected in Moldova a few years back and they were just like any other corrupt social democratic party. You cannot really vote in socialism through bourgeois elections; that takes the "socialism" part out of it.

yes, still, the fact that defenders of communism are in high numbers and rising at polls, shows a rising chance of revolutionary expropriation.

Not to mention the KPRF is nationalist as all hell, even if there is a popular uprising inlight of this information (which is VERY unlikely) I doubt it will be worth anything to people like us.
