More bad news for Cameron, Clegg and the crew:

Teachers in the UK have seen an ongoing pay freeze, and derogatory changes to their pensions (along with other public sector workers). They are also angry at the government's plans to continue with the strategy of encouraging schools to become 'academies', where they are outside of local authority control.

Delegates at the NASUWT Conference, voted to step up industrial action, which could result in strikes during the Autumn.

Another teaching union, the NUT, is holding its conference today. It is also proposing a motion that could lead to strikes and walkout.

I remember my teachers going on strike in the 1980s. Then I enjoyed it because it was a day off school. I am going to enjoy it this time round, too - but for different reasons :D

The British National Union of Teachers (NUT), is defending the right of teachers to the annual six-week holiday, necessary for rest and recuperation. It's necessary for school kids too:

And they are also calling for "mass resistance on the streets" in the Autumn, to end the Coalition Government's plans to introduce regional pay:

Interesting to read as actions seem to be taking place here amongst teachers also.

There is no profession interfered with more than teaching. Governments change direction at the drop of a hat and teachers are expected to run around and implement shite policies. Their classroom practise is interfered with and they have to deal with all of this in situations were learning is extremely difficult because of tolerated poor behaviours by some students.

The government trying to attack the summer break for teachers is beyond belief. Teachers are constantly planning, marking and falling to pieces at the moment.

I don't bat an eyelid at this stuff coming from the tories, but the libdems?

Shame.
