Wasn't sure where to put this...

What do you think about spouses/non-marital partners/children who kill their abusers? Such as the woman who's name I forgot, who killed her fascist (literally) husband who happened to be planning a terrorist attack?

I'm a bit unsure about how I feel. But I want to feel comfortable in considering it a form of acceptable tyrannicide.

Depends on the situation but killing someone when other avenues are available becoming a legal action would lead to a fucked up world almost instantaneously.

I think it is pretty understandable, and it isn't the place of communists to moralize.

It is the place of communists to be logical. Society would quickly unravel if honor killings and revenge killings were tolerated.

Often women (and some men) and especially children have no other way out, when faced with a an abusive, controlling piece of shit.

Could unravel a society? Let me go ahead and ask you straight up... are you a 4chan troll? Because that is the impression I have of you based upon your posts thus far. Anyway, it most certainly is NOT the role of communists to prevent the unraveling of capitalist society... I am not a fan of revenge, by the way. But if you are being abused, it is a question of self defense, really.

My parents beat the shit out of me and swear to God, one time i almost stabbed them in their sleep. If it wasn't for a voice telling me to stop, i would currently be in an insane asylum. No other way out means being physically trapped, not fearful of change

Having the right to kill a person because they wronged you would drive people crazy. That is the beginnings of honor killings, and honor killings are fucking crazy

Honor killings? Yes, because people who commit honor killings are obviously the victims of physical violence and emotional abuse... Jesus Christ, remind me never to reply to any of your comments ever again, troll.

Wait, I'm confused. are you asking about people who kill their abusers out of self-defense, or out of getting revenge?

I said the beginnings of (say precursor) murder really shouldn't be an option unless you are about to die

Self-defense, like in most cases where an abused woman snaps and decides to blow her abusive husband's brains out while he sleeps.

I don't see how it's the same as revenge killing, as sithsaber said. There's a difference between killing someone who harms you, controls you, and may try to find you and kill you if you try to leave (or may harm your children), and killing someone because they looked at you funny.

I don't think it's a fear of change that leaves people who are abused feeling that there is no other way out. It's fear of what might happen to them if they do manage to leave and get away. Women who suffer domestic abuse are more likely to be killed by their ex-partner if they leave than if they stay in the abusive relationship.

Put it this way, if a kid, or anyone for that matter who was being raped lashed out and killed the rapist, it'd be an absolute injustice if they were charged with anything.

In self-defence, killing your abuser would be justified and shouldn't be seen as a crime.
