Can someone explain to me what this is all about?
So that I understand more about it and how it affected the break up of the USSR.

If you ever have a few hours to waste read Gorby's book on Perestroika and Glasnost. He dances around how both of these terms means going back to Marxist-Leninism. You could almost feel his laugh as you read the book.
