We can all have a favourite comic, stand up or otherwise, and not necessarily care about their personal political views. Is there a comedian you like whose poltics you also like / admire / respect?

^^ Those two answers were exactly what I was going to say.

Lee always seems like he's about to say something truly radical but then at the last minute he pulls back. Really intelligent comedy although occaisionally he stalls a little too long on a subject and if you don't find that particular bit that funny it becomes boring.

Stanhope is a shock comedian who wants to offend and gross out his audience. He's also more open about his political position, he's a right libertarian or anarcho-capitalist depending upon how much he's drunk that day. He's like a right wing Bill Hicks.

Alexei Sayle

(Isn't he an ML or something)?

But he's also funny.

George Carlin. He was funny and told it like it is. A genius. From his sketches I'd say he was a libertarian socialist, definitely anti-capitalist, but he wasn't politically involved. Here's one of his best political bits: the truth summed up like no one else couild:

I like Steve Hughes.. I'm not sure what his politics are.. but he's against the wars in the middle-east and the anglo-american establishment in general.. so that's good enough for me.

Edit- He's probably an anarchist.

He takes jabs at British empire in here, but it's toned down for the venue.

He ridicules homophobes in this one, it's funny.

He's a liberal but a lot of his social/political stuff is good. Especially the being white joke.

Mitch Hedberg and George Carlin. George Carlin seemed like a communist/anarchist to me. and Mitch Hedberg... not sure.
