Hello, I am a Iranian American living in California. I attend a community college as an art student. I have always been called a "liberal" by my friends yet i never really got into politics. One day i was in the library and saw the manifesto. I started reading it, still reading it, and was hoping to join this website to get a better understanding on Socialism, Communism, and Anarchy. I can't trust waterdowned school books or propaganda heavy lectures from ex soviet citizens. I would not call my self a communist just yet but i feel a natural revolution of my mind. I am still learning and have been reading almost obsessively anything communist. I have even read certain anti communist books just so i can understand both sides. I hope one day i will be able to be part of the working class as well as learn philosophy, history, literature, mathematics/programming, and anthropolgy. Other than that I watch movies, listen to music, and above all else draw and paint. I'm also a pretty chill person so ask away if any questions.

Welcome "dude" as they say where you're from. I was pretty amazed at how even women are "dudes" in the vocabulary of some Californians.

There's a wealth of learning material here, you might be interested in many of the threads in the learning forum:

they cover a lot of the basics, both about the left in general and it's responses to capitalists critiques.

We also have a rather vibrant nerd/math/programming type bunch over at Science and Environment.

PS I removed your reference to something which remains a no-no even in the great bear state - be careful what you say online!
