There has been a lot of activity in Bolivia and Brazil. There seems to be a struggle between the indigenous populations in remote areas of the jungles and the government's plans to build a Dam and other energy projects.

There are arguments from both sides. Like, this will make Brazil and Bolivia more energy efficient. It's good for the countries investment and other national pro's.

On the other end we have people who have been living there and any alteration to the ecosystem really puts their livelihood in danger. Aren't these governments supposed to be more "socialist" and isn't Evo Morales indigenous him self? What the fuck is this all about? They are acting like bullies it seems.

It proves how class interests trumps.

What do we tell the workers?
To pressurize their governments to invest more on research and development of alternative energy sources. In the last decade, many wonderful advancements and discoveries has been done in this field and with proper support, they can certainly replace ecology destroying dams (hydropower) and environment polluting coal or fossil fuel based thermal power plants.

It proves how class interests trumps.
Not always, I rather say that it's a result of myopic vision of progress. Instead of searching for alternatives, just following the beaten path.
