When the 450 parts per million of Co2 are reached, when the atmosphere reaches more than 2 Celsius than at the beginning of the industrial revolution, our planet will undergo huge water shortages, droughts, hurricanes, floods etc. Okay, since we all know capitalists are idiots and most likely will do nothing (until their existence is threatened) as the monopolies try to sell as much oil as possible, buy up patents that could endanger their business; the planet is not though lost. I have gotten a few facts from Gwynne Dyer who is the leading expert on climate change and Geo-engineering:
Painting all roads and roof White would lower the earth's atmosphere by 1.0 whole Degrees centigrad. Some Philippian volcano that erupted in the 1991 lowered the earth's temperature by 0.5 degrees C. for 2 years. So (most of you have probably heard of this) it would be a possibility to release some stuff (don't ask, i am not into science...) particles into the upper atmosphere like a volcano. Also you can evaporate ocean water to form fog which could potentially lower the earth's temperature by 0.5 Degrees. The world is not lost, we also have a bunch of technologies that we could use instead of oil and especially to lower the amount o oil needed... from patents that oil companies hoard now.

As the guy from Jurassic Park put it, life finds a way. Sadly, this way to planetary readjustment will result in the deaths of millions,

There are things that can be done, and then there are things that are profitable.
