Did anyone buy a ticket?

Yeah, snowball's chance in hell of winning, but $3 to take three of said snowball's chances.

It's at $462,000,000 cash-option right now, $640,000,000 annuity (fuck that), the highest in lotto history.

Instead of hording the cash why don't you set up a commune like a true comrade? (petty bourgeois bastard:laugh:)

Seriously though there is a 85% chance if anyone here won the lotto they'd vote for Romney the next day. Pray to God i don't become financially omnipotent.

I heard that the odds of winning are the same as standing in the center of the U.S. and being mauled by a polar bear and a regular bear in the same day. What's strange is that I heard that most bears don't even care for the lotto. Amazing.

A buck for a chance to win millions of dollars, I'll take it even if the chances of winning are so infinitesimally small it seems pointless.

Although it's not often.

More often I'll play scratch-off tickets. Those can be manipulated a bit. They have to pay out approx. 98% of what they take in. If you buy a bunch of $500 max tickets, usually a buck each, You'll at least earn your money back, and have a significant chance of making a profit. The chances decrease with the size of the jackpot. My uncle used to buy a roll (100) of the cheap ones with low jackpots ($1 ea.) and come out with $3-400 most of the time. I don't think he ever won the jackpot, but the way they're played you don't have to.

3 departments at my work ran pools of $10 a person per department (organized by the workers, not management) one department was able to get something close to 600 worth in numbers. i put in 10 for mine and on friday at lunch i got 10 more since, why not. never bought a lotto ticket before anyways.

but, i think it effected everyone. everyone was talking about not coming in on sunday and everyone was joking about how yesterday was their last day of work, and everyone was actually moving slower.

if a department actually won though, god how the next few months would suck.
