Well, that's the tactic. React to situations with explosive aggression, you shock them (in theory) in to fear and pray they don't respond in the same fashion, or even consider coming back to protest.

Brutal, yes. But anyone to be surprised, or even comment on aggression is a bit naive, this is what they have to do to maintain their status quo. Obvious, maybe. However, I don't want to hear about Israelis, I want to read reports from protesters and listen to them.

Often, the IDF gets more attention than the Palestinians, so less IDF, more freedom fighters.
