Game Girl

When I respond to bigots, I always try to be the better person. Not responding with threats or name calling. I just say what is in me. and when it comes to those who attack the LGBT community, this is my response to them;
I have always believed that love is a powerful force. Stronger than anything else. I'm in love myself and it's the most wonderful feeling I have ever felt. To me, it's like all the bad of the world is minor. That it can be dealt with in the end. I wish for everyone to experience that warm, peaceful feeling in their hearts. I wish for everyone to find that special being to call "their soulmate". Whether that being is with someone of the opposite gender or even with the same gender.
I wish I could ignore you and all the cruelty you stand for. I truly do. But I can't. I can't be silent anymore. Not while you are hurting innocent people.
I am not religious. I don't believe in God or any other higher being. Nor do I listen to the words of the Bible. I make my own judgements. I make my own decisions. I have my own view of the world. I don't rely on a book to tell me what to believe in. I rely on my own conciousness and my own feelings to do that for me. Right now, my conciousness and feelings are telling me that what you are doing is wrong.
and if there is a God and he is as loving and caring as people say he is; I don't think he would approve of what you are doing.
I believe it is dishonourable and cowardly to use children as a tool for your campaign. What if you had a son or a daughter who turned out to be gay? All you exposed them to was that gay people should be treated like second class citizens. There are so many young people out there who cannot be themselves because they are terrified of what people might do to them. They have to live "in the closet" to protect themselves. But in doing so, they will always be unhappy and they will always be hurting. Sometimes there are ones who can't bare it anymore, so they take their own lives. You may not directly be involved with it. But you are part of the problem.
Answer me this; How can we hope to protect people in society, if we cannot even protect a small percentage of them? They might be the minroity, but they are STILL part of society.
The hatred towards the LGBT community. It has to stop NOW. It's cruel and inhuman. I thought we were better than that. I thought we moved forward. But I guess I was wrong. Humanity is still such an imperfect species.
To be perfectly honest, I do not expect a reply from you. It would not really surprise me. Some people refuse to listen to those that oppose them. Even the most sincerest of opponents are cruely discarded as "brainwashed masses". It would not be the first time I have been ignored for my simple views of the world.
Please stop hurting these people. It breaks my heart to see such callous disreguard for humanity.
Now, I suspect as you read this, only one thought is on your mind. What am I? Straight? Gay? Bisexual? Transgender? I'll tell you what I am;
I am a human being. As are gay people. Start treating them like human beings instead of abominations. They just want what we all want. A chance to be happy. A chance to live life without fear. Don't they deserve that dignity?
So many gay youths have taken their own lives because of fear of rejection. Please don't let anyone else die.
So far..No one has responded to this letter...Though, should I be surprised?
