Hello all,

My name here will be MEGAMANTROTSKY; first-time poster, but a lurker here for at least a year or so. I originally come from Connecticut, but for now I am living in Pittsburgh as a student. I should have come here first, but I was compelled to post in some thread commenting on how many people capitalism has killed. I hope this will be forgiven.

I am a Trotskyist. Of what contemporary brand I subscribe to, I cannot answer. Furthermore, I am not yet a member of any political party. I once wanted to join the SEP, but after the polemics of Alex Steiner and Frank Brenner revealed the leadership to be objectivist (not in the Ayn Rand sense, of course), I became disgusted with the party and now mainly read news from aggregators, only glimpsing them on a blue moon. I now read and re-read the Steiner and Brenner's articles on permanent-revolution.org. For now, my main focus is to learn the dialectical method.

I became a leftist when I was either a junior or a senior in high school. One of my best friends introduced me to Marx/Engels in small doses. I was at a rather low point at the time, with anger and depression being my primary inspirations. Unfortunately, I cannot go into further detail here. Anybody that might be interested can PM me for more details.

I hope to get along and interact with you all.

Welcome! You will find a smorgasbord of Trotskyist parties and leanings here at Revleft, as well as customary flame wars between Trotskyists and Stalinists. As regards the latter, I try to learn and not burn.

Welcome comrade! As for not yet having joined a party I wouldn't worry about it. In the time that it took you to write your intro at least 5 new trot parties came into existence(leave it alone I'm playing!).

In case anybody had any doubt whatsoever about the effects of the capitalist market on individual thought processes...

Welcome comrade. I would be happy to answer questions that you might have about the various Trotskyist currents that are around today -- I am very familiar with those in the US, less so with some of the foreign groups. Many years ago I sold Trotskyist propaganda at the U. of Pitt from time to time although it was about a three hour trip from my political home base -- in the "cathedral of learning." Take your time figuring out your political views. Listen and don't be afraid to argue and ask questions.

I didn't mean it like that, though I will hardly disagree with your point. I should have said "current". My mistake. Oh, and hello, by the way.

For the rest of you, thank you for such a warm welcome. I will try to stay away from flame wars and to do more listening than talking. Not too long ago I was the reverse, and it was not exactly healthy. Again, my main focus is to study the dialectical method, though from the threads I have read the topic seems to be a flame war all on its own.

I would be interested to see you apply the dialectical method to the problematics of the certain trial process which ended with the actual and objectively gradual process of liquidation of the counter-elements.

Death to the People's Front of Judea! The only accurate analysis is offered by the Judean People's Front, the Judean Popular People's Front, the Popular Front of Judea and also the Campaign for a Free Galilee.

Aren't you the one always whining when someone tries to start what you call a "tendency war"(I call it criticizing reactionary-Stalinists, though)?
