Several dozen people protested in front of the Higher Court in Belgrade today against the possible rehabilitation of WW2-era Gen. Dragoljub Draa Mihailović.
They carried banners saying Draa is a criminal. There were no incidents.
As the court hearing proceeded on Friday, Slobodan Marković, historian and member of a commission tasked with determining facts surrounding Mihailovićs death, took the stand to testify.

This news is terrible. I don't know what to think anymore and I am sickened by the way the Cetnik movement has been glamorized. Young men sit here and spout off nonsense while their own grandfathers were partisan guerrillas.
I want to cry...These things depress me so much.

When shall we "rehabilitate" Hitler? In 20 years? In 50?

This type of shit has happened everywhere where "communism" fell. Most of the new regimes even payed for damages and imprisonment for nazi war criminals they let free.

Shameful decision, but what do you expect from Tadic, a pro european union fanactic and a neo liberal. Tito must be turning in his grave

Is this Tadic trying to appease the Radical Party to try and win some support?

All parties are aggressively anti-communist. This is a process that has been going on for years: in 2009, they rehabilitated Dragia Cvetković (Prime Minister who signed the pact with Germany and was overthrown in a coup two days later) and last year knez Pavle (regent at the time, notorious traitor, met with Hitler). Draa was the leader of the Chetnik movement which not only collaborated with the Nazis but also committed atrocities. A right-wing historian who works in that infamous state commission, Boris Dimitrijević, openly said that they're planning to rehabilitate Nedić - quisling Prime Minister who participated in the extermination of Serbian Jews.

Serbian radical party isn't a political threat anymore. Itself. They split into two fraction, from which Serbian progressive party is the most likely candidate to win the following parliamentary elections. Of course, they changed their public appearance drastically, pulled on shirts and ties, started pro-EU political discourse and rejected the idea of Great Serbia and other fundamentals of the Serbian radical party.
But on the other hand, of course it is done to appeal the majority of the Serbian population in a desperate attempt to stay in power. Most of the working class people are generally right-wing, filled with (false) mythology mixed with hardcore nationalism, and rehabilitation of Draza Mihailovic serves the Democratic party very much. In the last couple of years, the indifferent liberals within the Democratic party have created a right-wing in their own party in order to appease the conservative population. They are led by Slobodan Homen(state secretary for justice), Vuk Jeremic (foreign affairs minister) and major of Belgrade Dragan Djilas, who has a strong anti-Roma stance.
