I saw a video years ago of a Japanese politician speaking at an assembly. After his speech, he pulls out a knife and stabs his left arm repetitively, obviously making a comment against leftist politics. He walks off the panel with a clearly painful metaphor dangling beside him.
Does anyone know where I can find this video, or have any other information on the man or time period this took place? Thank you.

The guy is speaking Chinese, not Japanese, as far as I can tell, and the comments say it's Taiwan and not Japan, the footage is just from a Japanese show.

Yes, that's Taiwan, not Japan. He is Liu Hui-hsiung, a National Assembly member with the Democratic Progressive Party, a social democrat party, not right wing. He was protesting his innocence in connection with a corruption scandal. This was in 1995.

TAIPEI, Taiwan — A Taiwanese politician stabbed himself during a session of the National Assembly on Wednesday as he protested to fellow assembly members that he was not involved in a corruption scandal.
State television showed independent national assemblyman Liu Hui-hsiung, 30, using a knife to stab his left arm three times during a speech to proclaim his innocence.
Liu, a former member of the main opposition Democratic Progressive Party, was sentenced last week to 18 months in prison after he was convicted of taking kickbacks to use his influence in a legal case.
He was reportedly in stable condition Wednesday after being rushed to a hospital.

Ah, my apologies. Like I said, it has been a while since I've seen the video. Thanks for the help.
