I don't know much about this subject, but I recently heard that some communist were the ones to kill Mussolini and other members of the Italian Fascist Party.
Is this true?
If it is; please tell me more! =)

I know he was disposed of via hanging but I always assumed it was by some mob action and no specific group carried out the execution.

The Italian resistant movement (against the Axis powers) executed him after he tried to escape north, his body was brought back to Milan and hung upside down alongside other prominent Fascists like so:

There may have been some ''communists'' in the mob that strung him up.

Yes, he was supposedly killed by Italian communists, more specifically "Colonel Valerio" - Walter Audisio.

Mussolini was executed along with some other prominent and non-prominent fascists (they were chosen rather randomly), supposedly by order of the general secretary of the ICP Palmiro Togliatti. The local partisan group apparently didn't agree with his execution.
He was executed by machine gun fire along with his mistress. Afterwards, the others were executed by firing squad elsewhere and six of the bodies were chosen to be hung downwards at a petrol station.

The death sentence on Mussolini was ordered by the National Liberation Comitee for Northern Italy and was signed by Sandro Pertini, a prominent member of the Socialist Party.
Mussolini was captured while he was escaping from Milano, probably trying to enter Switzerland.
According to the official version, Mussolini was executed along by his lover Claretta Petacci (his wife Rachele survived the war) by the communist Walter Audisio, aka "Colonel Valerio". In a different place, were executed also 15 fascist leaders that where also trying to escape along Mussolini.
The corpses of the fascist leaders were eventually exposed in the same square of Milano were the bodies of 12 partisans were exposed for a month to terrorize population.
Mussolini was executed by a communist because the partisan brigade who caught him was a communist brigade. But also socialists or actionists would have done the same.
After the war the right wingers tried to "revise" the death of Mussolini, to demonstrate that the execution of Mussolini was plotted by the british secret service. Many other conspiration theories were raised, but no one ever proved anything.

One cannot but own up when one is found out. Here might be found one of the reasons Perfidious Albion might have wanted Mussolini silenced...to say nothing of the treaties Chamberlain signed. Mussolini might have asked for a pension from MI5/6

If you learned history in the Unites States, then it was Eisenhower who killed him. With his bare hands.
And the U.S. Army won the battle of Stalingrad.
