View Full Version : What is your opinion of Kate Middleton

What troubles (but doesn't surprise) me about her is that she seems incredibly, incredibly manufactured and it scares me how many people I know give me the same impression she does. Like, as in, I can tell her personality from afar to the letter.
She is probably friendly, gregarious, and doesn't think ill of others. She is generally optimistic, can be saddened, but not terribly concerned about making the world a better place except superficially.
She is likely quite bright, cunning, and smart in a does well on standardized tests sort of way.
She probably can play an instrument or two very well. She knows what to say when but is generally a "seen and not heard" person.
I doubt she has ever seriously thought about doing anything that departs from what those who expect a lot of her expect.
She may well be introverted at times, although on the whole she is quite forthcoming and doesn't get bogged down in minutea.
She knows what her charm and good looks can accomplish - and when al else fails is confident in those to carry her through.
I suspect she probably has a nerdy obsession or two over something utterly inconsequential, like thistle horticulture or hell even Bukharin. But she doesn't let it get the better of her.
She sees her self as someone who can be "one of the guys" in cracking crude jokes and enjoying sports, but accepts her compulsory feminized role.
I think unlike her father-in-law she actually does love her spouse, but also is sufficiently ambitious to not rock the proverbial boat, in a way that only young sycophants of the throne are.
I'll leave it at that. What are some other impressions comrades have of her as a person?

i think she is just wonderful and i am glad prince william brought such a splendid addition to the royal family. her speech today was marvelous and with her other recent efforts without william show what a brave, kind and loving person she is.

Ummmmmmmmmm, ok. I thought everyone was going to attack the shit out of her. Well, I can only make one opinion about her since I am not British nor interested in royalty: she is very attractive.

I don't see any reason to take any interest in her at all. Just another boring celebrity.

ugh tell me about it! i thought the kennedys were well on their way and had a touch of elegance all their own but after so many tragedies they seem to be mostly out of the limelight these days, and not a one in office for the first time in decades! such a shame.

Just trying to figure how that foreign contraption might work.....what does that piece of string doooooh?????????
Oh dear....well Miss Middleton has certainly found her Mr Right!!!
What can one say? I can only hope she makes him as happy as the late 1st Mrs Dodger made Mr Dodger. SO NICE TO BE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD WHEN A ROYAL MARRIAGE TAKES PLACE. Not that I get satisfaction from friends back home screaming for mercy, enough...wont the circus ever end\\\\\\\\//??

Don't give the Jacobins too much credit. I'm sure some guy named Charles* would be jealous.

lol
The name comes from the protagonist in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."
I'm just expressing my personal opinion. I don't understand why Americans care about royal Europeans (i.e. actually bothered watching the royal wedding, Lady Di, royal scandals-etc of continental Europeans, etc)

I'm actually starting to be thankful for America rebelling against the British. At least we don't get a boner when we hear "God Save The Queen."
"The prince seems absolutely dashing Martha"
"Quite right Philip, quite right"
Chip chip cheery oh
What took you so long? You sound like those kids from terrance and phillip. Not a good thing.
I get a boner when the Sex Pistols sing it.

Come to think of it, I guess that's not too far off the mark.

She is indeed quite attractive. Seems harmless enough to me, personality-wise (don't really feel the need to join the Jacobin Club on the royalty here, i'll stop short of calling for their murder I think).
Not really a massive fan of the Royal Family, though I do think the Queen (if not her husband) has personally done little harm throughout her reign, even if as an institution she is a massive obstacle to democracy. Lucky she didn't turn out quite as bad as her abdicating Nazi of an uncle.

Well..I actually think she's a pretty decent person. My anti-monarchy aside, I think she IS a good role model. I have respect for her, like I had for Diana.

I don't think that I have to elaborate on my avatar here. It's good to see somebody putting so much thought into Kate Middleton's personality, though...?
I'm sure the prince didn't.

I remember being pissed off when William and kate got married. I was staying at a mate's house at the time, and cos he didn't pay his cable bill, the company had restricted his number of channels. So there was nothing on but this shit. We were both like, what the fuck, not this crap on every station.
Two points stick out in my mind about her. When she started dating William, a lot of peeps thought it wouldn't last, and she would never be the future queen, especially since they split up at one point. But I always had the feeling they would marry. She was every inch the 'royal' from the very start: very demure, careful about what she wore, how she behaved in public et cetera. I used to joke to my mates, 'she's more royal than the Queen', and that the Duke of Edinburgh would be all for her - if she wasn't a 'commoner' haha.
And also, she illustrates how the royals are trying to modernize themselves. It's still quite rare for the monarch's family to marry outside of royal or aristocratic circles. And she hasn't got this kind of pedigree, despite her family being very wealthy. Old money meets new money, and that shite.
But generally speaking, I couldn't give a flying fuck about her. She represents wealth and privilege, both as a royal and in her origins from a money family.
