Stupid objectivist bullshit.
This is what I put in the comment section (under a fake e-mail):
You stupid right wing libertarian asswipes. I have not yet noticed when your stupid ideal of objectivism ever looks to legitimately help the working class. Once your abandon your bullshit "economic mobility" argument, you guys are left with shit to sell your ideology to the working masses with. When conditions get so bad that the American working class rises up against centuries of oppression, the first people the new Marxist-Leninist vanguard is going to send to the new Alaskan gulags will be you idiots. You are a threat to humanity, the future revolution, and especially the working class.
Just meant to piss them off.

Am I trolling on this site. No, so what the fuck are you talking about? I am trolling on a site that is not only completely unrelated to us, but also our enemies. None of what I did over there will effect anyone over here.
And it was just a joke. I did not mean anything I wrote . . .

Social Darwinism in Capitalist Propaganda is priceless to the bourgeoisie. I personally hate most movies as they don't show anything to do with reality. When's the last time you saw a movie that shows how the central horrible life in capitalism is a sole struggle for survival? Most of the time it is people of Power that they show, like "Look, for 2hrs. and 25 mins., you can see what it's like to be 'successful'". Makes me fucking sick. I want to see Kulaks paraded off to labor camps and listening to orders from their former employees.

it having literally 0 budget probably helps.
that's about all it helps, though.

I heard they were gonna try and fit John Galt's entire speech into the film(s).
Sounds like a potential Weapon of Mass Frustration to me...

The movie was made on $20 million budget (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=atlasshrugged.htm), and didn't make that back ($7-$8 mil depending on the source. But asking for that money from donors and what not is more manageable in this day and age, even if the last movie did badly, compared to say a movie with a far larger budget that did not do as well as the distributors hoped. There was one movie that comes to mind, Eragon (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=eragon.htm), also based off a book (a child fantasy one at that), which was made on a $100 million budget but only recouped $75 million in US theaters- would've completely tanked had it not been for its performance in a weak international market.
But in mass-marketed movies, that $20mil budget budget is paltry so they can probably convince investors and donors the problem wasn't so much production as it was distribution.
But there are some people still hoping to blindly push for it and throw money at it, and this one wants to be out somehow by election time. I mean if you look at how some (http://mediamatters.org/blog/201104260014) conservative outlets proclaimed the movie to be a critical and financial success, and not just with with the Atlas Shrugged production but that weird Palin documentary (http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/tea-party-report/2011/jul/25/palin-undefeated-scores-liberal-success-hollywood/)talking about how it made inroads to 'liberal' Hollywood by twisting how a failure into success, there are people who want to make it work.
It's funny though with all their complaining about how there was a concerted effort to shut them out, as far as an 'independent' production goes Atlas Shrugged got a shit ton more press coverage and encouragement especially from Fox, the Washington Times, and other conservative news sources, and that didn't show in the returns. There's been some examples of other 'independent' films that were made on less budget and made a good return on it, and they received no where near the media hype or support Atlas Shrugged did.
o well this is ok I guess

Although the libertarianism here is of the more colorful charming variety, bearded hillbilly dudes smoking joints and bragging about how they've avoided paying income taxes to the Man for the past decade, not whiny pseudo-intellectual Randroid libertarianism.

I was hoping this thread would die off after I posted all that stuff. This is embarrassing. But you guys really should have seen the responses I got. "Marxist-Leninists count as liberals" "Obama thinks just like you." and "Marxists are no better than Nazis."
