I live in New Jersey, so some of my friends by the shore were freaking out when they put a report on the news talking about how the water level is going to rise dramatically in the next few years due to global warming.

Most likely this almost-national lack of winter is a result of global warming, or what Václav Klaus calls a communist attempt at taking away your freedoms.

This is global warming because the temperature changes from year to year are more and more extreme. But this isn't how warm its going to get when we finally get rid of the correction factor of ice melting in the sea.

Hi, indeed, damn man I hope it's not the end of the world as we know it. I think that the theory of the Mayans is right. Indeed around here in Tennessee, there wasn't any snow in this winter, and the winter didn't look like a winter at all, but more or less fall or spring. We are doomed !!!

the tornadoes in places that don't usually get tornadoes could be a sign of changing weather patterns too, but it is important to remember that unseasonable temperatures, hot or cold, are not necessarily indicative of larger patterns. last winter here was cold as fuck and snowy.

This is the plot of The Day After Tomorrow, and is possible, but climate change is unlikely to occur this way. It is far more likely to make everything hot as hell, and fuck up the biosphere so bad that it pretty much kills everything but cockroaches, some bacteria, and Twinkies. That happens with a 10°C global temperature increase, and the present human-induced increase is between 2°C and 4°C. We've used half the world's oil, and the bourgeoisie wants to use the rest of it, meaning a 4-8°C global temperature increase worth of carbon in the atmosphere, PLUS quasi-clean corn ethanol among other things. Not to be alarmist, but if Capitalism doesn't collapse in a century or two, the human race (not to mention pretty much everything else) pretty much goes extinct (As if the Holocene Extinction isn't bad enough already).
Meanwhile the Left calls every attempt to establish some alternative as ''lifestylist''. No shit, we're trying to establish new lifestyles here. I know the word's supposed to mean that all members of a group are bound to act a certain way, but that isn't how it's being used.

last summer we reached death valley temperatures for a few days in july, around 117 degrees or so. This state is already unlivable as it is without air conditioning, but this is getting ridiculous. We didn't get our usual sudden ice storm that we normally do this year, either.
