No idea if ZeroHedge is credible in any of their stories, but I remember browsing their headlines in the past and I suppose they're..interesting?
This is the only source I can find with the story: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/brent-126-israel-cabinet-votes-8-6-attack-iran

Who the heck knows anymore. It's obvious that an Israeli attack would be incredibly dangerous and would provide Israel no benefits, but these guys are seemingly bent on self-destruction. Either Israel wants everyone to think they're gonna attack Iran for some reason, or the "Zionist Entity" is officially insane.

Unconfirmed Israeli political source. Move along (for now).

If they attack this will be the same destructive phase that happened to South Africa when it decided to prance about in Angola and throughout Africa. Iran is a current front-line state against the Zionist entity and if the Zionist entity decides to invade Iran, they'll be defeated and pushed out of Iran and the rest of the Islamic world embarrassed which will allow for a new phase of the intifada to come about.

I don't honestly believe that the Israeli security cabinet is insane and I think we should only ever assume it isn't.
Anyhow, this is the best concise analysis I've seen on the whole Israel-Iran situation, by Immanuel Wallerstein: http://agenceglobal.com/Article.asp?Id=2753

Current and oldest "conspiracy" theory is that Israel want control off all of the middle east to fulfill some prophecy of theirs, thus the US interventionism in nearly every nation around them.

Well not so much a prophecy, but fulfilling a commandment. I've not put much effort into studying it at all but here is what I saved from a long time ago.
"Destroying the Seven Canaanite Nations"
http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/961561/jewish/Positive-Commandment-187.htm
According to this article, the order is to be forever fulfilled. Small quote from the article
"Since these seven nations no longer exist4 a person could think that this commandment is not noheg l'doros [for all generations5]. But only someone who does not understand the concept of noheg l'doros would think such a thing. A command that can be fulfilled without being limited to a certain time is considered noheg l'doros, because if the act would become possible in any generation, the mitzvah would apply. When G‑d will totally destroy the descendants of Amalek and remove them for all time — as will be speedily in our days, as G‑d (exalted be He) promised,6 "I will wipe out the memory of Amalek" — will we say that the mitzvah to wipe out the memory of Amalek7 was not noheg l'doros? This is not true, for in any generation when one finds a descendant of Amalek, he must be killed."

Also, can you guess who is label a "descendent of Amalek" in this day and age

War or the threat of war is traditionally a good way to temporarily pacify any social discontent and with Israel having seen its largest demonstrations in its entire history they are in need of a good distraction.
