Well, he was a free-market capitalist supporter who supported cutting food stamps to the poor, etc. Yet, at the same time he was highly anti-interventionist and in that way I respect him I guess.

FOX News says shit like that all the time (obviously they do not go that far), so I do not think that that is why they let him off.

Most of them are conservative semi-libertarians.
