CAIRO — Egypt’s Islamist-dominated parliament unanimously voted on Monday in support of expelling Israel’s ambassador in Cairo and halting gas exports to the Jewish state.
The motion is largely symbolic, because only the ruling military council can make such decisions, and it is not likely to impact Egypt’s relations with Israel. But it signals the seismic change in Egypt after the ouster of longtime leader and Israel ally Hosni Mubarak a year ago in a popular uprising that ended his 29 years in power.full story: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle_east/egypts-islamist-dominated-parliament-votes-in-support-of-expelling-israels-ambassador/2012/03/12/gIQA9Qfh7R_story.html

Well that's good and everything but I don't really think that will affect Israel.
I mean the whole gas and oil thing. Traditionally, Israel has relied on expensive, long-term contracts with nations like Mexico( oil), Norway (oil), the United Kingdom (oil), and Australia (coal),for its energy supplies.
In addition, the U.S. has an agreement to provide Israel oil in case of a blockage by Arab nations.

Next week, US suddenly needs to dispose of an evil dictator in Egypt who plans on creating Nuclear weapons with Iran.
I'm Actually surprised this happened. America seems to be losing its grip on the middle east. AIPAC will not like this.

I am almost 100% positive that when power is handed back over to the real government and taken away from the military, all those Islamist parties in power will cut most if not all ties with Israel. But as Bostana pointed out, Israel has so many "oil" allies that it will not give a shit.

What is the "real" government? The military runs things in Egypt, there is no way they wil cede real power without a worker's revolution. The Islamist parties basically have an understanding with the military and with the US.They will be like the Turkish Isamist AKP, they won't do anything to hurt the interest of imperialism.
The Islamist parties are a temporary phenomena. They really have no more solution to the crisis than did Mubarak or Tantawi. They will not last long. The working class in Egypt is gradually beginning to flex its muscles and find its true power. The situation will change rapodly.

Working class upraising, Egyptian military starts killing them left and right, cue American military actions to support the civilians. Another one bites the dust. Just 2 left now.
