I love Chaplin's films. He was one of the great comedians who advocated for strong leftist positions. So in honor of him I wanted to post his best moments.

The Immigrant with the kicking of the immigration officer scene.

I've saved the best for last. In an extremely touching moment in The Kid, the boy who the Tramp has raised since it was a baby is being taken from him by an orphanage. (I recommend you watch it in HD)

Chaplin will always be a truly great comedian. It is saddening that we do not remember the message.

It's a testament to his comedic genius that he's still funny today. Great guy.

I like the part in Modern Times when he accidentally takes cocaine and then single-handedly beats up the guards and other prisoners.

I've never watched anything of his films. Yes mock me, I deserve it!

I really like the build up to his being arrest. The guys accidentally dropping a red flag and when he tries to return it and ends up leading a labor protest.

I remember seeing a documentary about him. They showed through found footage the process he used. He went through hundreds and hundreds of takes of a single scene, reworking and polishing it on the fly. He tossed out gags, threw in new ones, changed the scene's location, added and removed characters and switched them around, and wound up with five or six minutes of absolutely flawlessly choreographed brilliance. It was stunning.
