Where has the socialist-experiment worked best? Is it currently working? If so, where and why? Where has it clearly failed?

Where has the socialist-experiment worked best?

Russia 1917-1924

Is it currently working?

Not really, depends what you mean. There are no socialist countries and never have been

socialism was only really attempted in Russia. And the Bolsheviks knew it was not possible in one country, especially a backward one, so they depended on successful revolutions in places like Germany, but that was thwarted.

1 - Russia 1917-19.

2 - no.

3 - see above.

4 - everywhere.

There are no islands of socialism. We build it on the ruins of capitalism and the state worldwide. We need to overthrow all states and international capitalism and then we can start the 'socialist experiment' for real.

Is any nation-state on the right path? What do you guys think about Latin America's so-called "Pink Tide"?

No. Its the "Pink Tide" not "Red Wave". Places like Venezuela are certainly better than most, but socialism must necessarily come from below.

Venezuela is an example of why social democracy is bullshit. Chavez has been in power for twelve years and hasn't even nationalized the god damn banks.
