The governor, who has 20 years of schooling on his résumé—the last three at a fully accredited law school—displayed this remarkable ignorance of one of the most important legal and political events in American history while explaining his decision to veto a bill that would legalize gay marriage. Christie argued last week that the issue should be decided by a popular referendum—and claimed that 1950s and 1960s civil-rights activists would have preferred one.
It’s one thing if the governor of one of our largest states—and a potential GOP presidential candidate—doesn’t happen to have the details of the Whiskey Rebellion or the procedural history of the passage of the Sherman Act at his fingertips. It’s quite another when he purports to base policy decisions on a level of historical knowledge that should embarrass a sixth grader.
He vetoed a LGTBQ marriage bill, and explained that activists from the 1960s and '50s would have wanted a REFERENDUM! Idiot.

Just more bifurcating words. He knows what he's doing.

Our governor is stupid. People can have many years of higher education and still be ignorant. Just look at Rick Santorum who went to school for more years than that "snob" President Obama. My ten year old sister has better ideas than him.
Public Referendum, in principle and application, is a terrible idea when applied to the American political system. These referendums are usually only pushed for when a government that is in opposition to a law or legislative proposal knows that they can give the choice to the people because some, if not a majority of them, would have the same prejudices as them. It is like taking advantage of an ignorant electorate. Also, no one should have their rights decided on by a group of people who know nothing of their experience. Remember Prop 8; it was a bunch of straight people voting on why gay people should not have equal rights. Does that make sense to anyone?
If you were to live in New Jersey like me, you would not be able to watch television without having Christie propaganda vomited out at you constantly. "Reformers for New Jersey," "For our children's future," "Reformers in Trenton." Its funny, and sad at the same time because he wants to reform and eliminate only the good things we have, which are not that much, and create more problems.
To show you guys how much of an idiot he is, here are some other articles on New Jersey's "favorite reformer" (which everyone hates).

Always nice to use oral sex jokes as a Governor.

Oh, a verbal fight. That's right, because Governor Christie cannot even lift his fists.

Ohhhhhh, we got a Governor who likes rich people, but not when they speak out against injustice (or as much as capitalists can really speak out against injustice).

LOL. Too fat to be President!
Research has found that bias against the overweight has increased in recent years, despite the rise in obesity, although one study found that the public tends to prefer chubbier politicians—but only if they're men.

This guy is a disgusting piece of shit. He once told a woman at a town hall to "shut up" for protesting his anti-education agenda.
I don't feel I need to explain this any further.

I still am amused how conservatives and liberals (one in the same) claim that America represents "freedom" when people must vote (fucking VOTE) on whether certain groups of people should be given civil rights and equality.
Well, those classic Brother Ali lyrics come to mind: "Welcome to the United snakes, land of the thief and home of the slave, the grand imperial guard where money is scared and power is god."
