Yeah, usually when I see ignorant comments and posts on the internet I brush them off, but for some reason this one just made me feel a kind of hatred for the people in this country and how dreadfully ignorant they are. I mean, I know that the media plays a large role in perpetuating that ignorance and fear, but good God, can people not think for themselves?
Here's the original post on Facebook, it's a question asked by a news channel:
"President Obama announced today new mortgage relief for people with government insured loans. Long Islanders with mortgages insured by the FHA would be able to refinance at half the fee the agency currently charges. What do you think about the plan?"
and then I skim the comments a bit, seeing this one...
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. OBummer is a communist Muslim with a hidden background who produced a fraudulent birth certificate. Oh, and everything OBummer does is indeed "Breaking""
and that comment has 7 "likes" as of right now, so I'm really happy to see that at least seven people agree with that assessment. Anyone else think he sounds like a pretentious asshole?
I mean, really. Can someone motivate me to care about this country or where it's headed? Yes, I'm saying that out of frustration and yes I understand that there is much reason to care about what happens here...but...fuck.
