Hello everyone,

Could somebody tell me something about the modern Russian communist party? I don't know much about them, besides that they are the second party of Russia. Also, I read somewhere that they are very nationalist. Is this correct? Because I think that would be quite bad, because I don't think socialism in one country will work in a country like Russia, or most countries.

Thanks, I didn't know there was already an existing topic about it.

I'm not sure what national Bolshevikism is but I will ask that in another topic.

Btw, I hear a lot of people saying the CPRF got 18% of the votes. Here in the Netherlands the media report is 17%. Is it just a mistake or is something else going on? Because I think that is pretty weird.

Different media outlets count differently and usually have different spins on outcomes. A single percentage point isn't something I would worry about as Russian elections are hardly quick, or fair, events.

How can different media count different? There is only one way to count votes. They counted the votes probably on different moments, so I guess, since not all the votes are counted yet, it were merely estimations, now I think about it.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is not directly a National Bolshevik party, but it uses a lot of Russian nationalist rhectoric in order to appeal to the Russians who miss the glourious Soviet past. They especially like to use the time of Stalin as a point of national pride, even though they are not particularly Stalinist. Most of the people who vote for them are pensioners and veterans.

Then what are they?

Then what are they?

The useless remnant of a former Communist Party that was also useless. I guess it is just an outlit for the Russian people who miss the Soviet past and are mad at the current capitalist regime to express their anger. I always see the CPRF as only a representation of the Russian people's failure at an experiment called free-market capitalism.

Then what are they?

social conservative, nationalistic, nostalgic and they play the loyal opposition to united russias rule.
