When I was posting my introduction thread it said I needed to wait for someone to review it before it was posted my question is why? I am going to assume this is going to be reviewed as well by an administrator. It is interesting that this site purports itself to be a leftist site; however it seems one has to watch his every comment or get banned immediately for a slight off comment that does not go according to the ideology of this site. If this goes in the trash I think I am making my point about this site not being truly a free open forum for leftists to congregate and speak freely. If a sexist joins I would like to speak to him/her and maybe try to convince him/her to change their mind (unless they're just trolling) I think the community here should have a say in who gets banned and who doesn't get banned if that person is a legitiment member of this forum. While I am considerably new here I hope that my input won't be dismissed because I am new or haven't been here long enough it seems trollish to say this is a leftist site and dismiss/ban anybody with different viewpoints of how a leftist site should operate. Since money isn't readilly available to our membership and a site of this size can not be run for free nor can it be run on donations....we need to find ways to create income to cover the costs so that this site can remain free of charge for its members.

Since you are new I will forgive you your insulting ignorance and assholish first post....and patiently explain to you that since Google adds was retracted because soebody posted a link to filesharing site we needed to create a new source of income....since money isn't exactly flowing into our coffins and operatihng the site costs money per month. Most of this is being covered from the pockets of the admins so whiney little shits like you can enjoy the site for free and complain to your hearts content without ever bothering about facts and reality.

This site's policy with respect to reviewing posts by newbies is really not unusual. There is a great deal of diversity at RevLeft but OTOH it is a community of people with shared values, As a practical matter RevLeft gets trolled frequently and if non-Leftists were given free reign every thread would go down in flames and the sight would suffer as a result. Having said all of that I am in favor of the a great deal of latitude being shown to people who are honestly open to the ideas of the Left.

The only legitimate question which is asked is about post moderation. However...from a legal perspective...post moderation can't be included in the rules you agree to because that would immediately make the entire site legally and criminally liable and its administrators and mods in case of something slipping through.

Sexism and homophobia not being allowed is already covered in the rules. Restriction and banning are also covered in the rules.

The way this site is paid for is currently under change. So this is relatively new issue we are working on and haven't yet reached a conclusion on. So to put this in the rules/FAQ is too soon.

What OP did and what OP was setting out to do is making threats and baseless accusations for the sake of stirring shit up. In fact I am going to say this is his one and only reason for joining this site given his post history.

I was referring to a simple thread in the FAQ which could post and respond to the most common questions asked by new members (and newly restricted members). I know all the info is there, but perhaps it could be reorganized in a new fashion to encourage easier understanding?
