I heard that is was a famine in the USA during the 20th century and that several millions died.
Is this true, and can someone please tell me more about it?

The United States was hit pretty hard by the great depression (a worldwide phenomenon). More than five million died.

I have read most of it, but I didn't find any death statistics..
Are there none there, or did I just not find it yet? :p

On Russia Today a Russian historian was interviewed on this subject. I do not remember the statistics but he has revised the original numbers and claim it was more than originally perceived. The dust bowl was one event leading to large death tolls in that era. This was due to droughts, agricultural techniques, and over-farming that led to swarms of insects and poor soil quality and massive dust storms. It ended up leading to massive dust storms and many people died in that alone. It lasted a decade. I would have added links but I am still on moderation. The title to the RT youtube video is...
Millions 'vanished' in 1930s U.S - historian

A good estimate of excessive mortality caused by the Great Depression in the US would be 7 million. I will post the source later, it's somewhere in my bookmarks.

I couldn't find anything in my bookmarks, but I found this through google:

Perhaps this is where I got the 7 million number from.

Those figures have been heavily criticized in previous threads on this forum.

I've not really seen any (reliable) figures into the death tolls of the Great Depression in the United States. There was definitely some food distributions problems though- outright ridiculous in some ways. Government attempted to keep foodstuff prices stable by buying up crops from farmers, but then never really used the same to help alleviate problems (hunger) across the country. It wasn't uncommon to see some of these stocks destroyed or simply sit around and rot following purchase from the farmer(s) or business because it would've been costly to transport and distribute it with little return in profit.

All RT news info should be analyzed before belief. A lot of what they say is true and under reported, but a lot more is mindless drivel

Not mindless, comrade, but sensationalist propaganda. The "7 million died" thing for example is intended as payback for the American decision to support the classification of the Holodomor as a genocide. Basically the Russian media is trying to make the American leaders look like hypocrites.
