So apparently the new conservative meme is to compare people on food stamps to animals.

Disgusting.
The day we really stop feeding the animals, the pigs will starve to death and rot.
Sounds like some people on revleft, to be honest.

It's things like this that make me wonder why the American proletariat has yet to wake up and see that American politicians do not represent them in any way, and should be seen as enemies and oppressors, not their representatives.

Reactionaries always need someone to strip humanity from.

An expression of classic social Darwinism. Following this years' presidential election I predict a major push by the neo-liberal establishment for austerity measures. I expect to hear much rhetoric in this vein accompanying austerity proposals. This legislator's comments are all too typical of the social Darwinism that is part and parcel of bourgeois economics.

"Socialism or barbarism." When are people going to get tired of the latter and choose the former? The hardest part of being a revolutionary is being a revolutionary in reactionary times.

True, but it is better now than in the past. The Reagan years were bad enough. Can't imagine having to live through the Fifties with Senator Joe McCarthy accusing anyone and everyone of being a Commie Russian spy.

Because if you hate the Republicans you vote Democrat, vice-versa and you feed the cycle to infinity. Plus you have some pretty sick fucks who are probably chuckling at those less fortunate than them.

Almost as bad as the sadists who and their Schadenfreude are those that I call "reactionary Christians" who quote monger from the Bible in support of the proposition that the suffering of the poor is the will of God.

They do. That's why the majority of workers don't vote and congress has a lower approval rate than herpes (http://edition.cnn.com/2011/11/21/opinion/obeidallah-congress-failure/index.html?hpt=hp_t1).

At least he is honest about his disgusting views - unlike those politicians who use newspeak like claiming that cutting unemployment benefits is actually helping the unemployed.
