Why not dig up their ancestors and shoot their bones too?

I wonder how much of that is actually true. I really doubt the North Korean gov't would be open about the fact that its official policy to blatantly murder people for the actions of someone else
I'm not defending them, I just doubt it's legitimacy

Why do you even believe Western news sources when they talk about North Korea? One of their favorite targets is Socialist and Anti-Imperialist Korea. I do not believe this BS.

North Korea is an authoritarian, dynastic basketcase, not a socialist state. Maybe in propaganda, but not in actual practice.

Here we go another thread that will degenerate into the whole "North Korea is not socialst because....". Based on a story that at best is very questionable.

So do you think that a regime which is essentially ruled by a family dynasty for three generations, has a personality cult around their current and deceased leaders of absurd proportions, outsources large sectors of the economy to South Korea, China, and Russian businesses, has large documented prison labor camps, is socialist? I would agree that the Western business press has to be taken with a grain of salt, but there are more reliable critiques of the "DPRK" from a socialist perspective.
There are material reasons why North Korea ended up as it did and this should be fully understood, but just the same it should not in any way be regarded as socialist or anything even close.

Business insider for facts about North Korea, why not Wall street journal? they seem to be unbiased when it comes to anything opposing free market capitalism.

I have some issues w/the last article but I still think its good.
Also, none of these are the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Business Week, Business Insider, Forbes, The Financial Times. They are not even Guitar Player, Field and Stream, Wired, or PC Today.

Lenina, first thank you for a thoughtful response. To clarify what I am trying say I point to nonsense like the article that the OP posted. If this is the jumping off point for an intelligent discussion on DPRK then yes I'm gonna vent a little. But it is not. The OP is only throwing an article out there for discussion. A thinly veiled attempt to bash DPRK first then commence with a "fair" discussion that eventualy leads to the question of whether or not the DPRK is in fact socialist. Going by the standards set by the majority of users the answer would be NO.
I would rather OP just said North Korea kills babies, so lets have a discussion on whether they kill fetus' as well.
