I'm wondering if there is anywhere I can purchase a red-black flag, before I try to make one myself? My sewing skills is very poor, unfortunately.

I couldn't hand-stitch to save my life, but a sewing machine is easy enough to use. Just a light touch of the pedal and a decent amount of vigilance will get you through that particular ordeal.
If not, just a get a large piece of red or black fabric, and spraypaint the other color onto it. Fabric paint is recommended, though.

I though the SUF sold them actually, otherwise AK-press but shipping costs can maybe be a bit high...
Maybe look arround on german online distro's....
Ill have a loo what i can find.
Saw just in germany a red-black one with the afa symbol over it, that one was sweet...

I would then just buy a big ass piece of red fabric, most cloth stores sell thin nylon fabric in a wide range of collours really cheap

You can make your own very easily. I suggest a light fabric so it catches the wind. Or you can order from akpress (http://www.akpress.org/1997/items/anarchosynidicalistflag) - they have the big 3x5 flags. Stencil the sabcat on it. Or, just get a black bed sheet, cut it to the size you want, stencil the sabcat in white on it.

How about we stop enabling commercialization of political symbols and just make one yourself

Its kind of ironic that the OP is posting in the DIY forum on where to buy a flag because OP is too lazy to do it himself.

o well this is ok I guess

How about we stop enabling commercialization of political symbols and just make one yourself Man what have you got against AK press.
It's not like we're suggesting people order their flags from Verso or some shit.

I buy my flags from CATO because they really care about freedom.

It doesn't really matter where you order the flag or the materials to make a flag from I mean jesus christ think about this for a minute

take a red bedsheet and a black bedsheet. cut them both diagonally and sew the halves together. you now have not one, but TWO red/black flags.

A very simple way I use to make as many small red black flags as you want is to buy a pack of those really cheap red shop cloths, then fold them in half and use black spray paint.

shop cloths?

Also known as shop rags, shop towels, etc. About a square foot of cheap cloth used as an all purpose sort of thing in workshops. You always see them when there's a mechanic portrayed in a movie or that sort of thing. Like these:

AK Press has a decent flag, a friend of mine bought one that still looks good and hasn't been too beat up by wind and waving it around. I made one on my own, and it didn't cost me nearly as much as it did for the AK Press flag.

Best make your own, it's easy as hell and cheap. If you don't know how to sew well (like me) find someone who does.

oh yeah shop rags. I dunno I thought you meant some type of canvas material or something and that'd be awesome to get for cheap but I see

You can make one pretty easily.

Place a red and a black rectangle of cloth two centimeters larger than the size of the finished flag atop each other and cut them diagonally. Align a triangle with one of the other color. Pin a centimeter of material along the long edge to make a good sewing surface, and sew away. Lay it so that the sewn side faces you, and use the other two triangles to create a mirror image of the ones you just sewed and affix them to each other in the same manner. Then pin a centimeter around each flag inward towards the sewn side of the long seams and sew them to make a hem. Place a strip the height of the flag and four centimeters wide of strong cloth like denim or burlap on the hoist side of one of the flags such that half is within the flag and half without. Glue it in place. Next put the two flags on top of each other with the seams inward. Sew around the edges of the flags ( and through the strip) and you have a durable two layered flag with no exposed seams that will last you many years to come. Finally, sew on two loops of cloth, preferably the same sort as the strip, at the top and bottom of the flag. Voila a DIY Anarchist-Communist flag!
