Give me some advice. I attempted to have a conversation with a small native mayan girl (from honduras but a really rural part) Her world view is how we say batshit insane. Besides believing that her people were the original dominant society of the americas who received sacred wisdom from extraterrestrial beings who can be summoned through blood sacrifice (and i quote"Human sacrifice wasn't bad, they only sacrificed their enemies and those who didn't belong.)and that her society taught everyone else everything from how to grow crops and how to predict eclipses she believes that a continuous rural lifestyle under the present system is superior to advancement and liberation from govt oppression. How can i preach the revolution to her?

Sounds to me like she doesn't want anyone to preach revolution to her and my advice is to honor that wish. Folks have to learn some things for themselves. Some of what she says seems batshit insane, but the part concerning the advanced state of Mayan science is pretty much spot on. Think of all of the agricultural products that originated in the Americas; potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, corn, chocolate, etcetera. The part about human sacrifices though seems batshit insane, but then again, she may just be putting you on.

This is like handing out CWI pamphlets at a Westboro Baptist Church gathering.

The extra-terrestrial aspect is puzzling because ascribing Mayan accomplishments to ETs is usually deemed offensive as it implies that the Mayans required ET assistance.

What else do you expect from peasants? Why do you think the collectivization under Stalin was so fucked up?

This girl isn't exactly what you would call normal (quantitatively smart but unable to understand proper human interactions. She was serious. The way she described it was that the mayan creator gods (she would call them alien beings) created solely for the sake of creating and loved spreading knowledge (think aliens in Indiana Jones) Due to sacrifice and other appeasements the aliens gave the Maya along with the ancient Egyptians sacred knowledge. When warned that the spanish were coming they abandoned their cities and temples
(and i quote" they were too unguarded, how could you not know that) When i told her that mayan civilization collapsed centuries before the arrival of the spanish she said that was wrong and i should stop reading wikipedia. She also didn't like the word collapsed, instead saying that her people chose an agrarian existence. When i said Honduras has a history of oppressing indigenous peoples she said that was untrue and that the govt left her group alone out of fear.

I live in the land of the exiles, where the anti commies of Latin America come to reside after sucking the riches out of their homelands. I have argued with relatives of Trujillo, fascist colombians who refer to blacks as neegers, Venezuelans who believe that their country is Nazi Germany and almost completely assimilated Cubans who fly into a rage at the very mention of camarada Castro

Sounds like she has some serious delusions. Not likely to join our cause. Not much more likely to do you any good, either. Let me take a wild guess that she may be rural but she isn't poor.
I just read your more recent post. Folks like that are VERY unlikely to join our cause. Don't beat your head against the wall.
