so, i got 2 2gig ram sticks (DDR2) and i have 2 old stock 1gig ddr2 sticks. they are slower and operate on the same voltage as the new ones (terrible i know) but i was wondering if there was a way to make them operate in the auxillary slots on the mobo without causing any problems. i put them back in this morning but it didnt boot, which i was kind of expecting.

so, any tips? any concerns?

I had a similar problem. I did some research on my bios settings, particularly those that had to do with RAM. Well, it turned out all to be Greek to me, and since it was an old PC and I really didn't give a damn, I changed the DRAM Clock, or the timing, I really don't remember, and it ended up working. Currently, DRAM clock is set to by SPD and DRAM timing to Auto by SPD.

Hopefully somebody here can provide a little bit more information than me.
