Well hi,i know that im an noob only 4 posts :p,but i already like this site, and i want to help revleft,so im going to number few methods so you can get more money to pay the hosting.

my best option is Direct Banner Advertising
we-i mean you can sell advertising space, like that members here pay some money so that they can add their banner on this site for one month. This could be an option.

Also you could start with VIP users, like you pay 15 dollars and you get upgraded user like you get an small picture under your name saying, VIP leftie or what ever, and that users can add to other users more reputation like when they like an post they give 3 plus insted 1 +.Private Forums,....

Creating an Email List or Newsletter this option should be good to

When links are posted on this site use ADF.LY
adf.ly is great every link here that is posted should go thru this you only wait 3 seconds and you get 0.1 cents an click so imagine if 100 people click on an link a day how much money you can make?

I dont know if this would help, but i hope that it will.

I completely agree. There sure is a big enough "market" out there with all these far left groups. I suggested the same thing a few years ago. Sadly, this isn't done for some reason or is added with all kinds of requirements, such as having only an ad on one subforum for example, so no one is interested in paying for ads like that.

Could be an option, but thatprice is too steep for those options. Add in a subdomain and an @revleft.com email address and this becomes interesting.

Not sure about this. It could get annoying really fast.

As a Minecraft player that fucking adores modifications, I don't mind ad.fly. (Modders link to downloads through ad.fly.)

I would go so far as clicking links multiple times, even if that can be construed as fraud. ad.fly is typically 5 seconds, though, in my experience.

VIP users? Some users are more equal($) than others? I hope not. Maybe REVLEFT should try and act as if they realy want to take money when offered. If someone(not gonna name names) wants to pledge X amount for each month to be taken out from their account each month then maybe they should try and facilitate that.

i dont like the VIP idea as well (we are all equal be leave) but without money revleft cant pay for its hosting so it wount be online anymore

Maybe something like the Something Awful one-time payment of $10. Those who don't pay get Restricted or something.

(I personally don't like the VIP idea, either. Just throwing some ideas about.)

I think the "VIP" concept of a Maintainers club is good; perhaps replace the Committed User's forum with this new type of forum for those that regularly contribute donations? Or simply add it in as a bonus-either or, doesn't matter to me.

Er...wouldn't having a "VIP User" section be sort of...counter to the whole purpose of RevLeft?

You should sell modships.

I actually have a good idea if someone wants to PM me.

Meh, I doubt many people would pay for the illustrious chance to obsessively browse every topic and decide what to do as if the world pended on your decision.

Well, my good idea was to open a sort of book store. You know those online publishing ones? There's one I found that publishes books really cheap. You could sell works from MIA that are hard to obtain in real life book form. Those books mostly no longer have any copy right. Copy right might be an issue with some translations but not with the the old USSR translations, there also might be some issues regarding introductions. But, that's where some users could come in, and help compile their own introductions or maybe help compile selections. This could possibly lead to a proper publishing route. Of course, one could do it oneself but I think it works out cheaper when it's in bulk. This would benefit not only the users here but the movement as a whole.

That is a very good idea, actually.

If you pay money you get access to a secret forum nobody else has access too. It just sounds...wrong...for a leftist site to do.

The secret forum already exists, it's currently for free though.

I don't see the moral dilemma.
