That's almost impossible really. Communism is an international phenomenon. However, I understand what you are saying. In many places in the third world Maoism has become the main force behind revolution. This is because Maoism has a high appeal among the peasantry who are very numerous in the third world and can strike against the shackles of imperialism without actually constructing socialism. This creates a working class and thus antagonisms between the proletariat and bourgeoisie and thus modifying the conditions for global class war.

You can't do that because communism is internationalist movement/position and each time somebody tried to do that it lead to reformism, nationalism and counter-revolution.

I don't think the question should be how would you modify the ideas, but make the existing ideas work for you.
Every communist has their own thoughts on bringing about revolution, how it should be carried out, established, ect. Some people like revolutionary industrial trade unions, some people like vanguard, and others would like to start a commune.
But to more directly answer your question, I live in the south. People here like farming and self-sufficiency. And guns. I say buying up land and starting communes that consists of class conscious influences is a good start.
edit:
But some people in the more industrialized parts of the world might like trade unions. People in the more undeveloped parts would probably prefer vanguard, since it would take a more organized and powerful organ like the state to uplift a place out of slums and what not.
