Yesterday, a mob attacked an innocent man, beat the hell out of him. Police did nothing to intervene. It happened in India, near the city where I live. The man did nothing wrong, and yet these bloodthirsty monsters thumped him believing him to be a thief.:(

All this tempts me to go back to TULIP. At least, I could be a Christian socialist and avoid believing in the communist lie that humans are morally neutral.

I am so sad today.:(

Another day's community policing from the fine men and women who work in law enforcement, aka lackeys of the rich...

Have fun.

I'm pretty sure 99.9% of communists are acutely aware of pogroms as well as mob attacks on people and vigilante gangs (if only for the fact that communists have often been the targets of such vigilante violence - or at least struggle on the side of oppressed people who are targeted). There is also lots of daily "senseless" interpersonal violence in society and being aware of it does nothing to negate Marxist ideas. This kind of violence is different at different times and under different conditions which strongly illustrates that this sort of tragedy isn't just a inborn "reflex" or some genetic condition, but it is social and circumstantial. The fact that people attacked who they thought was a "thief" should demonstrate some connection. If this kind of violence was inherent then we should be able to see a more or less constant a regular occurrence of such things, instead we see lots of variation in the big picture.

India is a country undergoing rapid and massive change (and inequalities) and so social turmoil and all sorts of volatile conflicts are to be expected unless people (well, workers and the oppressed anyway) can organize together and try and gain more control over their lives.
