Hi, I've already made a topic and a couple of posts in the learning forum but I figured I may as well make one here.

I'm living in the uk, been in and out of work for the past couple of years after dropping out of university, I've always been pretty left wing and over time have drifted further left, I went to a few protests at university but never really got involved with the political societies, this was before it all kicked off with the cuts.

I wouldn't subscribe to any specific doctrine, I think communism is a great goal but I'm not sure what the best way to achieve it is, so I'm here to discuss learn about the various ideas.

Welcome to RevLeft. There is a wide spectrum here, everything from hardcore Marxism-Leninism (Stalinism) to anarchist adherents of Buenaventura Durruti and Nestor Makhno. I am a Marxian-oriented socialist who believes that single party vanguardism replaced the DoP with a dictatorship of the party bosses, and in the wake of these disasters we must find a different path to revolution than the failed Soviet model.

I am impressed with the intellectual level of the debate here. Most posters are nice enough and the ones who are not nice are best ignored.
