There's a clusterfuck of usernames on this forum, it'd be fun to know what some of them mean or what they are referring to!

Deicide means ''Killing of a God''

I chose the name to display my vehement Anti-Theist position.

Landsharks eat metal
21st February 2012, 15:52
Mine's a really long story, but I'll bite.

It was actually from a conversation I was having with my friend as we were reminiscing on our years together in marching band. She played saxophone, and I played bass guitar. One day, it suddenly started to rain in the middle of practice, so the students who had instruments that were easy to move all ran under somewhere to stay dry. Instead of leaving their instruments there and coming to help move the marimbas, amplifiers, and various other heavy instruments, they just stayed there. I ended up getting soaked, and we were mad at everyone who didn't help.

I was asking my friend, somewhat jokingly, years later, why no one came to help, then I decided it was because they were afraid something was going to eat them. She said that sharks might have strong enough jaws to chew up the musical instruments, so I said, "It was landsharks! They eat metal, you know." Pretty much right after I said it, I realized that I wanted to change my RevLeft name to Landsharks eat metal, especially since I was looking for a new name anyway.

ColonelCossack
21st February 2012, 20:33
I've explained it before. It's not because I'm a Brezhnevite/Czarist/Tankie.

Basically, when I was 11, I had this character which I made up called "Cournal Kusak", because my spelling was worse than poor. I made little "comics" and "radio shows" about him. Anyway the name kind of stuck as I became attached to it and now it's my general username on the internet, because I have no life. It turned into "Colonel Cossack" because that's the correct spelling. While I was a bit of a tankie when I first came up with the character, I'm not anymore and the name has no political connotations.

Here's proof from when I was 11:

It's shit because I was 11 when I made it. Yep, those are people hanging on the tree... I was a pretty weird 11 year old. I think I've said before that I ran around screaking things like "I'm a communist!" or "I'm schizophrenic!"

ColonelCossack, your drawing made my day. That's actually a pretty alright gun and whatnot for an 11 year old.

My username started out... when I was playing the game RuneScape. They implemented a name-changing system so I thought of the name "WhatThe-Duck" and changed my name to that. Everyone loved it. But one day a stupid moderator decided it was offensive and made me change it. So I went through many duck-related names like "Ducky Go Rawr" "ComradeDucky" and "Agent Ducki" (spelled wrong because the other way was taken) So my internet personality was now "Ducki/y" .... So on Revleft I was first "Comrade Ducky" because lol communism... but then I decided Agent was cooler.

The end. That was tl;dr. I will go back to admiring ColonelCossack's art and laughing.

Red is a colour associated with revolutionary socialists and I'm an atheist. That's really all you need to know.

I think it is important to identify as an atheist, because so few people do and I think there is something inherently radical about saying 'there is no higher power that wants a certain order to exist among humans'. The absence of God takes away from the supposedly 'permanent' nature of system based on class divisions (e.g. feudalism, capitalism, etc.)

Yup. IMO Runescape reached its absolute peak just before they released the 'Dark Bow' (first overpowered weapon), and it started going downhill when they began to dedicate servers for certain things and made the Grand Exchange; both of which totally ruined the community spirit. It hit rock bottom when they released the godswords (crazy overpowered weapons)

Pretty much this.

I am from Sarajevo, "Valter Defends Sarajevo" is my favorite Partisan movie from ex-Yu. Now that I live in Novi Sad, they find my accent entertaining I suppose, and being a communist pretty much got me the name "Valter".

Also, my cousin has some communist views, but when pressed he turns into a giant liberal douche. Therefore my family calls him "Lazni Valter" or "The Fake Valter" (which makes more sense if you have seen the movie and understand the plot.)

Also I wrote "Valter" in Cyrillic because apparently when I tried to sign up in Latin letters it said that the user name was taken...and I don't want another username.

It's shit because I was 11 when I made it. Yep, those are people hanging on the tree... I was a pretty weird 11 year old. I think I've said before that I ran around screaking things like "I'm a communist!" or "I'm schizophrenic!"

Edit: Why da fok is it so huge?????!!!!!

Lies, you just drew that.

Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_of_the_Revolution_(song))
"Children of the Revolution" is a song by T. Rex, written by Marc Bolan. It was a #2 hit single in September 1972. The song broke their sequence of four official single releases all reaching #1 ("Hot Love", "Get It On", "Telegram Sam", "Metal Guru"). It did not receive a regular album release.

The song is about teenage rebellion, and upon its release, some critics blasted the song, as it marked a change in the band's overall tempo. Some even believed the song was pro-communist propaganda, based on the title alone. It was included in the film Born to Boogie, in the famous Apple Studios jam with Elton John. During the jam, Marc Bolan puts his head through a grand piano while John is playing.

I don't trust people and I have ability to make people talk or to dig up some mud on anyone. That's why Kontrrazvedka, cause when I started that I was an anarchist and Kontrrazvedka was Makhnovist secret police.
Kontra-razvedka is the Russian word that means "Counter-intelligence", Kontra=Counter, Razvedka=Intelligence.

Borz just means "Wolf" in my language(Chechen). Not much to it.

Remarkable! I got my username the same exact way. Havee however is my first name, and I needed to make more than 5 letters so I made it Havee3333333.

Mine was from my Xbox live ID I picked two words at random one of which was Manic. I used the same name on another website where people generally dropped the second word and I was often just called Manic. There are quite a few people from that website who were already on here when I joined. So they'd know it was me I just used Manic. Manic Impressives was the name of a fantasy football team my dad made when I was a kid and I always liked it. As I was already known as Manic I decided to use that.

I knew this sociopathic fellow in school who used to scam people on RuneScape, offering to sell them rare items amassed (typical scarcity-thing, you always end up with those dreadful hoarders) and required them pay him first. He got over 700 dollars this way before they closed his pay-pal, but reinstated it, after he claimed he had in fact been at the locations in Rune Scape, and they chose to believe him over his victims.

I like psychobilly music... and I can come over a bit cold sometimes I guess... but its mostly a music thing...

Boy did we get a good laugh with BOZG last year in Belgium, when I was trying to organise a Revleft gettogether (which unfortunately never became reality) in the Netherlands. I casually said something like 'I tried to get psycho to come, but he didn't think he can make it'.

His girlfriend (also a comrade of ours) was listening and just shook her head, saying that with all the names I was dropping she hoped we'd live to see tomorrow.

Public Domain
18th April 2012, 08:36
Mine should be pretty obvious.

I always liked the idea of it as a pseudonym...

"The Public Domain burns down a Wal-Mart"
"The police are in hot pursuit of The Public Domain"
"Up next, 3 representatives of companies on the Fortune 500 discuss the latest actions by The Public Domain"

etc etc

There is several meanings to my username. Firstly, it's a Latin phrase meaning "voice of the people." Secondly, it refers to an Anarchist group in Bioshock: Infinite which are the main faction fighting against the insane nationalist faction which controls Columbia.

There were several reasons behind mine, I guess I just generally thought/think that it sounds kickass etc, but the most important one was that around that time I had just learned to listen to heavy metal (as a teenager I was a staunch techno fan), primarily Judas Priest, who have this awesome song called 'The Sentinel'.
