Hello comrades,
I am a Marxist from Phoenix, AZ, unluckily for me, one of the most reactionary states you could live in. I have been lurking this site for a while (I wasn't able to make an account because the registration was down for a while). There aren't many of us Marxists out here in Arizona, unfortunately. I am in high school at the moment, constantly getting in arguments with my teachers and such. It gets very boring refuting the same arguments over and over, but whatever .

I have participated in Occupy Phoenix, which, ever since the liberals took over, has been dwindling in numbers since the start of the occupation. I have a particular interest in Leon Trotsky, if any of you could send me a link to one of his works, that would be great.

I know this isn't a great intro, but dammit I tried .

I'll end this with my absolute favourite quote from Karl Marx. It may be a bit cliche, but it has always made me want to go out the and kick some capitalist ass!

"The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Working men of all countries, unite!"

Platform of the Opposition (the intro is in the Learning Forum, would be nice if someone posted on that thread!)

a good organisation in America is Socialist Alternative, you can watch their debate wit the Tea Party on youtube

i am quite new aswell and i forgot to ask for any advice on reading so i just have to wing it.
it is probably too late and i dont want to derail your intro thread.
my advice is .... be careful of opposing ideologies it's a right wind-up and full idiots without principles only a dodgy desire to provoke us for fun.
