Haha. No matter how many times this kid is told, he never gets it that maybe he should use punctuation and complete sentences.
Anyway, I agree, this debate about the pledge is stupid. This country was founded by Christians. So what, they put "under god" in the pledge. Boo fucking hoo.

Just wondering... but if this isn't such a big of a deal, why bother starting a topic on it? I see it as unlikely that you will achieve any constructive arguement here.
Afterall... in God we t(h)rust.

the separation of church and state is fundamental to american life on every level, but there's a more important aspect to the pledge. the bigger issues you say should be our focus result from a conscious effort by the power elites to subjugate the masses. the pledge is indoctrination straight out of "Brave New World" , brainwashing people at their most impressionable age. it teaches us blind obedience to a shadow government and to an invisible god. the individual is murdered in favor of membership in a mindless pledge chanting mob. i'm 28 now and can still remember an oath i had no choice in taking.teach facts in school and leave religion and ideology to parents.

Actually, the original pledge never had 'under god' in it. That was only put it by, I believe Reagan, during the cold war to combat the godless communists. Personally, I think the pledge is fine the way it is. If it's changed, more people might see it as 'reasonable' to blindly pledge allegience to a flag. As it is, I think it's easier to get people to see how stupid it is. Of course, I've never said the pledge and never will.

Wouldn't complaining about peoples' complaints about the pledge constitute as a "small thing" that shouldn't be bothered with?

The "under God" pledge amendment, as it became known to the American people, moved quickly through committees and both houses of Congress. Congressman Louis C. Rabaut (D - NY) began the pledge amending process by introducing House Joint Resolution 243 on April 20, 1953. It received little attention until Reverend George M. Docherty's February 7, 1954 speech promoting the "under God" addition before President Eisenhower. The reception from the American people, as well as President Eisenhower, was extremely positive. Shortly thereafter 16 bills were introduced in the House and 1 in the Senate in support of the addition. By February of 1954, the Senate adopted Congressman Rabaut's bill under Senate Resolution 126. By Flag Day, June 14, 1954, the bills passed through Congress and President Eisenhower signed the bill in to law. As he did so, Eisenhower declared, "In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war."

My point exactly. Except you said it a little more articulately. I can't be bothered putting any effort into responding to this guy.

I think the bigger issue is how Christianity is really represented in schools and other government intuitions but there is no representation for other religions. At my school in year 7 they give everyone their own little red bible. But me question is where’s the Taoism texts or the Muslim texts?? Is it right to push Christianity on people??

On your money you should change what is written (those in the US)
Example...
In god we <s>trust</s> murder
In god we <s>trust</s> Bomb and steal
something like that

while on the subject of the pledge, i think it is important to say it was not written by a socialist as people think but a minister with "socialist tendacies"

Got that from a rage album.
How would they know you wrote it. Plausible deniability. Something like that.
