I am currently working with the German record label Mad Butcher on a Redskins tribute CD. This will feature the 5 tracks from the Redskins tribute EP "A Flame That Can't Be Dimmed" along with some other covers. So, we are looking for bands at the moment to cover some Redskins songs.

We are looking for bands/artists to cover the following songs -

Lev Bronstein
Peasant Army
You Want It? They've Got It!
Young & Proud (Anthem Of Mistake)
It Can Be Done
A Plateful Of Hateful
Let's Make It Work
Reds Strike The Blues
Go Get Organized
Hold On
Turnin' Loose (These Furious Flames)
And There's A Crack
Take No Heroes

Names Were Named - This track was never released by the band but I have a live recording of it.

Can any bands/artists that are interested get in touch with me at [email protected]

Cheers,
Bazza

I passed this on to a friend who is in a punk band. Maybe they'll give it a try.

For those who like the Redskins, checkout the Adjusters. And if you don't know who either are check them both out.

I think The Adjusters were interested in recording a track for the Redskins tribute. But I think Mad Butcher Records are still waiting to hear back off them.

Anyway the track listing for the Redskins tribute looks like this so far -

No Respect (Germany) - TAKE NO HEROES
The Bolsheviks (England) - HOLD ON
The Che Men Featuring Norman Strike (England) - KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON
Negu Gorriak (Basque Country) - UNIONIZE
The Yell Leaders (America) - IT CAN BE DONE
The Borderguards (Canada) - YOUNG & PROUD

BONUS SONGS (CD ONLY)
The Yell Leaders Meet The Grooveblaster (America) - THE POWER IS YOURS
The Inciters (America) - LEAN ON ME
Maninblack (America) - BRING IT DOWN
The Che Men (England) - KICK OVER THE STATUES
Eric Blowtorch & The Forces Of Victory (America) - DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT WHETHER

Any chance that this one will be easier to get for fans in the US?

Do the bands that do the covers have to be punk bands?

I'm in a post-rock group (we sound like Godspeed You! Black Emperor meets Radiohead) and I love the Redskins. I wouldn't have a problem recording a track if it would be welcome.

The Redskins tribute should be easier for fans to get in the US as Mad Butcher have far better distribution than my record label.

We are looking for all styles of bands.

The Inciters version of "Lean On Me" is pure Northern Soul while my bands cover of "Kick Over The Statues" has been described as sleazy 60's garage.

Check out my Redskins website for more info - www.redskins.co.uk (http://www.redskins.co.uk) Or email me at [email protected]

The Redskins tribute album won't now be getting released by German label Mad Butcher Records as they are only interested in lining their own pockets and ripping off bands.

I'm am currently in talks with a few English labels and will be annoucing shortly which one is to release the Redskins tribute. It looks like No Respect have dropped out so I'm still looking for bands to record the following covers -

Take No Heroes
Go Get Organized
A Plateful Of Hateful
Names Were Named
I Can't Stand The Boss
Let My Words Be Bullets

Also the Redskins album "Neither Washington Nor Moscow" maybe be getting reissued on CD. If it goes ahead this reissue will feature "The Crack" which was missed off the last CD for some reason. As well as some bonus tracks - Kick Over The Statues (The Ramsey McKinnock Mix), You Want It? They've Got It!, It Can Be Done (single version), A Plateful Of Hateful, 99 1/2 Won't Do (take 3), Take Your Gods & Bury Them and Reds Strike The Blues.
