1. The greatest singer (in rock) I believe to be Maynard Keenan of tool, he has a great voice. I suggest you all go and dow... :cough: buy the song sober.

2. Brian Malko, from placebo, well definatly the wierdest voice, but it certainly appeals to me.

3. James dean Bradfield, Manic street preachers.

4. Grant Nicholas, feeder.

5. Freddy Murcury, queen.

well they are my top five...

Glen Danzig I don't care for most of his post Misfits stuff but he really does have a great singing voice. The dude from Minor Threat/Fugazi is pretty good too if he wants to be (when he isn't screaming).

Shane MacGowan too his voice is just so raw and gritty.

The members of Chumbawamba are great too, especially the woman.

The original singer of the Dropkick Murphys, Mike McClogan (or something like that).

Mike Ness - from Social Distortion

Sinead O'Connor

Roxy Epoxy from the Epoxies

The guy from the Redskins

John Doe and Exena from X

Johnathan Richman

That's enough.

Now how am I to take this?? Are you somehow comparing Chumbawamba to Hanson? You seem far too knowledgeable to be doing something so stupid, so I'll assume it is something else. Or perhaps you only know one song by Chumbawamba, the one that was on the radio a lot a few years ago, if that's all you know you are missing some great music.

Now onto the Bob Dylan comment. The topic is best singer, not best songwriter. No doubt Dylan is a great songwriter but his voice leaves much to be desired. But hey this is all opinions anyway.

Maynard James Keenan is far and away the best these days. He's a perfect tenor as well as the only man I've heard capable of screaming in key. Not to mention the fact that he quite possibly has a better appature rating than anyone else I've seen listed.

It is difficult to say who is the best singer. Billy Corgan may have a unique style but he has real feeling in his songs.
