Brilliant idea.
Of course, we all know that our Yankee comrades will (respectfully) get the most of it. :D
Baseball.

Why, oh, why baseball? It's damn boring, watching a guy forever trying to hit the ball. It's actually more spitting and scratching balls than a sport.
Here's what Yahoo thinks:
The great American game. Great that is except for the mind numbing tedium of the whole thing. Baseball has some of the fattest arsed and overpaid athlete's? in the world. Although you'd be hard pressed to call some of these players even passably fit what with their fat arses. I know enough with the arses already, but come on get into shape people or perhaps it's just the clingy outfits. O.k. back to the game itself. As with many American Sports there is a great deal of standing around, contemplating of navels, mucho getting ready, intense debating of what to do next, thinking about what to do next, talking about what to do next, pointing at things, spitting, stomping of ground, chewing of cheeks, signaling to catchers, placing of feet, readying of hands and ball and many other things ending in .ing! If you can stay awake long enough for the opening pitch then perhaps you have the mind-set to enjoy the sport of Baseball, I myself just don't have the patience and unless I have money riding on the game or it's a World Series (http://voices.yahoo.com/topic/12187/world_series.html) (the world being made up of um........well, just America pretty much, now that's a small world isn't it)...then I don't think I'm going to make it past the 1st 10 minutes.
Home runs are actually quite spectacular to view. The satisfying crack of the bat and watching the ball fly into the crowd with another satisfying crack as it bounces off someone's forehead is good entertainment but there's just too long of a wait in-between.

You guys should see a baseball game in person. I'm not a fan, but whenever my family goes, it's always fun. I suppose it's like that for almost any sport.

Yeah, I think non-Americans take baseball more seriously than we do. Or they think we take it more seriously than we do. It's more "fun" than "serious" here.
It's boring to watch on TV usually. But if you physically go to the game (MLB tickets can be had for $1 a piece for a mid-season afternoon game on StubHub) with some friends, drink a bunch of beer, eat greasy cheeseburgers, etc. It's fun as hell. It ends up being about 50% socializing and 50% watching the game. The drunker you get, your attention only drifts to the game when you hear a loud 'crack'. In Atlanta, you don't have to worry about getting too drunk because you can ride marta home. And even if you have guys making millions in MLB, there's always the minor leagues, which are just as fun to go to, minus the absurd salaries and the ego that goes with it.
If you wanna talk about overpaid athletes ... look at the NFL .... jeez. There are some guys in baseball making obscene salaries ... well most of them in MLB do ... but the award for consistently, the highest, most absurd salaries goes to the NFL. Just getting a ticket to an NFL game is expensive.
