They're right. Welfare state subjugates workers by making them dependent on the state. The parallels between social liberalism and classical fascism are astounding. The only bit I disagreed with was the guy who said something about the rich having worked hard for what they have. These people are conscious of the devious and manipulative nature of the bourgeois state, now if they could only become conscious of how capital is the same way they'd be leftists.

Fucking hypocrites.
And as for spending, teabaggers actually have no problem with government spending billions (on the army, on bombs for the next overseas war, on funding for Israel...). They're only opposed to it if the money goes where it's really needed: to the poor and disabled who need it most. You can sum up their arguments like this:
"You don't have a job? Well then just get one!"
"You're paralyzed and can't work? Maybe you shouldn't have been driving so recklessly!"
"You were born with a disability and can't work? Too bad, maybe your mom shouldn't have done drugs while she was pregnant with you!"

This is nothing more than middle class exceptionalism at its ugliest. The poor dug their own grave, fuck 'em! Safety net? As long as it's for me and mine, ok. The dem's got us into this mess, fuck 'em! Aghast at the prospect that this class divided may be on the verge of extinction they resort to what they know best, blaming the raped over the rapist. I would not be surprised if they resorted to checking each others mail to see who's getting welfare money. You just don't hear about the poor doing this shit.
