Hello everyone, my name is Chapien. I'm a relatively new Leftist, having drifted to Communism after years of lurking "on the fence" of Social Democracy/Democratic Socialism. However, I've finally reached the point where I am sick and tired of Capitalist society all together and I now consider myself a far-left, radical Communist. I don't like ascribing specific labels to myself, but I consider myself a Marxist-Leninist with some Trotskyist tendencies, though I respect all communist tendencies as valid.
A few more specifics about myself, I am a homosexual sixteen (nearly seventeen) year old growing up in a homophobic neighborhood, and being raised by abusive, homophobic, unsupportive parents. I'm an atheist surrounded by religious fanatics, and I'm a Communist surrounded by Republicans.
Ah well, at least I have the internet! So, how are you all?

Welcome :)
I know how you feel in a lot of what you say. I live in an incredibly conservative area, have just recently rejected Christianity despite being raised that way my whole life, and my parents won't believe me that I'm transgender. This is a great place to escape from all of that, and I hope you have a good time here.

Welcome comrade, you don't have to worry about being disrespected here for your orientation. This board is a great learning resource, hopefully you will find it productive to your education.

I think I will enjoy my time here. I recently rejected Catholocism... best decision in my life, probably. Thanks for the welcome, comrade.

Thanks comrade. I honestly haven't found a place where there is absolutely no discrimination against gays- hoping RevLeft will be different. And I lurked it for a while, it seems very educational

You invited me here and I'm so very glad you did. While I'm still new here, welcome to the community anyway!
