They don't silence real progressives. This guy is talking about it. I guess people are now being realistic. This is war, not a police action.

Ah the classic anti-everything position.
Yes they are pretty much the same, but in reality if the Republicans had it their way right now, 40 million Americans would lose healthcare, welfare, and in effect lose their lives.
There is little difference in their policies, however these little differences have HUGE impacts on the general population.

I'm talking about in politics, i.e. in legislation.

In politics? The politicians only talk about it if it wins votes. I guess most of the public accepts the need to keep Guantanamo open and the killing of jihadists even if they are American citizens.

The point of this study is that a lot of liberals changed their mind when THEIR guy was in power.
This is a classic case of manufacturing consent.
Btw if you are for that, then I suppose you see no value for the constitution.

And it only wins votes if the media gives attention to it.
And it only gets media attention if it becomes the priority of rich people.
And it only becomes the priority of rich people if it's good for them.

:laugh:, by what standard, by what possible standard. Poll after Poll show the American public are way more progressive than the media (on public healthcare, taxes and so on).

Fox New's standards? That seems to be where a lot of this liberal media myth comes from. I read a book by Al Frankin about this and in it he cited a study that pointed out that the majority of members of the medial are more left leaning on social issues, but when it comes to economics they are a conservatives.

There is no conservative economics.
If you mean conservative economics, as in liberal economics, then the media is just plainly a bunch of market liberals.
Although, I do think that most of the media is roughly centrist with the exception of Fox News.

well in politics what do you expect we don't have two parties anymore we have one huge capitalist party with a moderate right and a ultra right wing.

I totally disagree, if you compare economic policies that are widly supported by Americans to the way the media portrays the economic positions the media is much more right wing, economically that is.

I don't bother thinking about media bias. I've never met anybody with any kind of serious political engagement - be it left-wing, right-wing, liberal centrism, whatever - who didn't think the media was biased against them all day every day. Not a single solitary person ever. And as we like talking about 'studies' I can assure you that 'studies' have confirmed this. 'Studies.' Of all things!

I prefer Malcolm X's analogy.
"The conservative is like a wolf. You can hear him growling, he is showing his teeth, and you know he wants to eat you. The liberal is like a fox. He will have you half eaten before you even know what is going on."
I always like arguing with conservatives more than liberals, at least they admit they hate gays.

I doubt there are a lot of liberals that secretly hate gay people.
