The October Revolution of 1917 of Russia (25th of October, the old date and November 6, the new date) entered its 92nd year of its victory. An era making revolution which came out of the depths of the dark tunnels of the imperialist system that continued among the rival imperialist countries, a violent war of rivalry against each other for re-distribution (division) of the imperialist dominated regions and brought tens of millions of people to the slaughterhouse of capital’s god and private interests. This revolution opened a loophole of light to the brightness tomorrow of the mankind. With the victory of this revolution, measures were taken based on abolishing the private ownership of the means of production and exchange and transforming it to the public ownership, empowering the working class and the settlement of council democracy, emancipating the women from under the yoke of inequalities of the male chauvinism and the two folded exploitation of capitalism, ending the imperialist war of aggression by signing cease fire with Germany, redeeming the subjugated nationalities by the Russian empire from the Czar’s submission and the proclamation of the nationalities right to self determination to the extend of secession and the formation of their self government, the creation of free education and development (nurture), the proclamation of solidarity with hundreds of millions of the oppressed people of the world which were suffering from the feudal relations, colonialism and imperialist exploitation and plundering and the reign of capital etc, which brought tremendous shouting of joy and exultations of admiration and the supports of the humans under exploitation and oppression around the glob. In one word, with the victory of the October Revolution, the world became divided in to two conflicting camps: The proletariat, the oppressed masses and the captive nationalities in one camp and the imperialism and other reactionary forces of the world in other camp in which the former was facing toward a shining future of freedom and emancipation of mankind and the later was insisting in the perpetual of centuries and epochs of exploitation and oppression.. The battle between these two contradictory worlds was intensified.
With the victory of this revolution, the global reactionary imperialism surprised of the victory of the proletariat and the vast number of people in Russia, attempting with all its power to smash the revolution, proceeded with all kinds of pressures, conspiracies, interventions and armed clashes and consequently the revolution could not open and strengthen the toiling and labor front against the global counterrevolutionary with the blessing of the other victorious revolutions in Europe.
The heroic Russian proletariat which under the leadership of the communist party, with dexterity could proceed with the demolition of the old world, in building the new world which is harder than demolition, was faced with exuberant obstacles. The backward economic conditions and also the desolated condition of the country caused by WWI and the internal counterrevolutionary wars which was being supported by the imperialist powers, the young Russian government were faced with tremendous difficulties. But, the communists and the working class of Russia rose up with willpower for building the socialist country and wiping out the huge backwardness in 1/6th of the globe, despite the fact that they knew that the advancement of the revolution would be faced with tremendously hard and protracted difficulties. The young government and the revolutionary people of Russia after a decade they were able to reach the ruined economic level to the pre-WWI period and with astonishing speed during the peak of world capitalist crisis (1929 – 1933) continued the social/economic splendor. In addition such new revolutionary condition was like another hard strike to the disastrous global imperialist system which was being involved in its self made crisis and so, with all its power tried to condemn the achievements of young Russian soviet republic.
In order to end the crisis and the rivalry over the re-division of the world in the 1930’s, the major imperialist countries, in a situation that the contradictions between them were getting worse everyday, began an open military aggression. Fascist Japan attacked China. The German Nazis occupied Austria and portion of Czechoslovakia and in 1939 started attacking the west and occupied Franc, Belgium and other countries. The fascist Italia also attacked Ethiopia in Africa. The western imperialists were unable to restraint the advancement of the German army and in fact the German ruling reign’s intention was to conquer India which was the British colony. For the German Nazis being staunch anticommunist was a ground to attack Russia. Under such critical circumstances, the western imperialists tried very hard to incline the German army’s offensive toward the east and with the advancement of German army in the eastern front and the invasion of Russia, this country without its desire and with the intention of self defense interred WWII and the heaviest burden of war fell on the Russia’s shoulder and finally came out of it with a great victory. Although, the loss of more than 28 million casualties, the destruction of hundreds of cities and thousands of burned and destroyed villages, the social/economic achievements were immeasurably devastated and had to be reconstructed again.
For a segment of the left intellectuals whom are not able to solve the simple problems in the arena of class struggle and instead of adoring the real life, they adore their own imaginary plans and only imagine the multicolored world social arena either white-white or black-black, if life reflects itself to them against their bankroll plans, then, they put stamp of rejection on them. For instance, they simply claim that today in Afghanistan and Somalia, it is possible to establish the communist system, they encounter the October revolution with enthusiasm and since this revolution did not advance based on their plan, and they come up with another plan: “The October revolution was defeated since, right away the capitalist road were chosen!” or, they claim that the alienation of Russian system “with the type of communism that is written on its flag: ‘to each according to its ability and to each according to its need’ is as clear as daylight” (Ali Javadi – For A Better World – number 126 – the second part of the article, The Worker’s Revolution….November 11, 2009). This is not a naïve claim of his lack of cognition of the theory of the revolutionary proletariat. This is a spiteful claim with the intention of condemning the socialist system which is going through its primitive stages and not only entails a wrong teaching and the superior phase of communism which as Marx says, material wealth in it erupts (In “The Critic of the Gotha Program”-1875), while Russia was still taking the first steps in the realization of the first phase of communism that is socialism, the people were severely suffering from starvation and shortcoming of consumer goods. This claim too is not going to mobilize the struggle for the proletariat. Because, when they say that the revolution was accomplished but, soon and in the first steps were defeated and followed the capitalist road, and with all commendation and praising of the October Revolution, from the 1918 constitution of Russia (in the same article by Javadi), no longer there would be any interest and delightfulness for accomplishing the revolution. Since, any proletarian militant conceives “movement for the sake of movement and not for the sake of reaching to its goal” as an aimless and a non-proletarian view, does not permit himself to participate in the revolution and gives blood so that again the bourgeoisie to rule over him!
Their intention of glorifying the October Revolution is to be able to bring down its achievements and since they are not able to reject Lenin, this great revolutionary, able, knowledgeable leader and profound proletarian thinker, confiscate Lenin for their own interest so, they can reject the entire socialist construction after Lenin and assign Stalin as the main cause of defeat.
They in this manner not only jest the zeal of the thousands and thousands of the communist members, cadres, and millions of the workers and toilers during Lenin’s life and after his death but, they practically want consciously or unconsciously say that “the revolution is a matter of a hero such as Lenin and not the masses and toilers in their millions”, such as with the death of Lenin, socialism died too!! This conclusion of them is a nonsense pattern making from the defeat of the Iranian Constitutional Revolution, the movement for nationalizing the oil industry in 1953 and the 1979 revolution which maintains that these revolutions and the movements were stumbled in the middle of the way because, their leadership was not at the hand of the communists but, instead the leadership was at the hands of the forces of incapable bourgeoisie elements and this bourgeoisie at the leadership, in no other parts of the world has done contrary to this.
Or, in the publication, “Toward the Revolution” # 24, November 10, 2009, in the article “The October Revolution: the occurrence of the proletarian revolution is an inevitable necessity”, on the one hand it is correctly stated: The revolutionary upheavals which occurred consecutive to the October Revolution were the result of collective understanding and consciousness from the proletarian class struggle. The ability of the working class for entering the class struggle collectively and consciously, was not an act of miracle and sudden, but, the yielding result of very deep, intense, long and calculated struggles which created the October Revolution…but, the revolution with the consolidation of counterrevolutionary Stalinist, soon got defeated and….”
Now, in reality, are we suppose to accept these gentlemen’s swear on “conscious preparation of the proletariat” for the accomplishment of the revolution or, their “but, the revolution soon got defeated”? Do you think that this conscious proletariat which accomplished revolution became annihilated right after the revolution? Even the careerist and sabotaging Trotsky that neither during Lenin nor after his death, even a moment did not desist from conspiracy for sitting at the top position of the Russian party and government and also later on did not desist its condemnation, did not dare to so easily negate (or disapprove) Soviet Union !
This is a reality that socialism in Russia was defeated. But, this defeat went through a 37 years of hard, long and complex struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie, and in an intense and long battle and in the final analysis unequal from the point of view of the economic, political and military balance of forces which lasted more than three decades:
1 – The October Revolution could not find allies and more forces, with the inflammation of the other socialist revolutions in the imperialist countries and the continuation of their victory, in the struggle against global imperialism and to reinforce the revolutionary front of labor with respect to the balance of power between the revolution and the global counterrevolutionary.
2 – The October Revolution became victorious in a country where it was suffering from extreme backwardness and the socialist construction in such society with no material basis namely, the commodity becoming of all production and social relations, were not possible since, generally, the none existence of the socialization of production in a widespread manner in the country and even in that country, such relations as the early commune, were still existed. Especially, the ancient global forces with all their power were against the progress of proletarian revolution and the socialist construction.
3 – The October Revolution was victorious in such a country where it did not have any living and ready model of socialism and communism in its path toward advancement of them and instead in practice it was compelled to advance by the trial and error method and in this manner, a lot of mistakes were occurred in which a premier example of that was the admittance of the bourgeois style of the structure of the army and the weakness of the workers and the toilers armed militia in defense of socialist motherland against the conspiracies of the internal and external enemies; The lack of effort in initiating the matters of production, culture (al) and defense at the hands of the workers and toilers, on the one hand and relying on the elites and the creation of privilege (or concessions) for them , on the other hand , which led in to the growth of bureaucracy and spoofing an in a country where the petite-bourgeoisie formed a large force and was transformed as a tool at the hands of the defeated bourgeoisie in sabotaging the socialist advancement.
4 – The October Revolution was victorious in a country where the global and internal counterrevolutionary did not give up even for a moment in defeating the socialist Russia and as the result; it had to use a lot of effort against these counterrevolutionary plans and certainly could not allocate more possibilities for directly improving the workers and toilers life.
5 – With the victory of the October Revolution, the class struggle within the country and with abroad in relation to the foreign enemies did not end. The socialist country of Russia which was at the primitive stage of socialist construction became surrounded from all sides by the world capitalism. In such situations, “the reign of who against who” between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie still has not reach the final result in the interest of the consolidation of the all round proletariat and the certain defeat of the bourgeoisie and other reactionary classes.
6 – The historical experience of the defeat of socialism in Russia and China showed that the class enemy precedes the policy of “Conquest of the fortress from within”, via degenerating the cadres of the party and the government leadership and the overthrowing of the rule of the proletarian policy over the society. Basically, the leaders of the party and the government must be part of the vanguards in the socialist construction and the continuation of the class struggle against the enemies of the proletariat. The solution for preventing the enemy’s deceit is to rely more and more on the masses of the workers and toilers in solving country’s problems and being equipped with the theory of the proletarian revolution for avoiding revisionism, dogmatism, opportunism and at last, is the expansion and outspread of the proletarian democracy in which in the decades of the 30s was not given enough attention.

In reference to what was stated above, to disregard the achievements of the October Revolution and downright adequately eulogizing this revolution and negating the subsequent achievements of the Soviet Union working class, meant abrogation (or invalidation) of the quality of the Russian proletariat that under the leadership of its forerunners created the greatest world historical event, and disregarding the proletariat interests under the mask of the defense of the proletarian interests!
Showing the complex social and class phenomenon as either black or white, in a best optimistic state, is only a direct reflect of dogmatic mentality in which inclination to that is simple and convenient on the part of the idealists but, the all round deceitful materialists would reject this approach and carefully investigate each social phenomena in its specific situation of time and place and then attain (or decide on the implementation of) a policy. Dogmatists are the other side of the anarchist coin that think that it is possible with one strike, usurp the power and reject the government and directly enter in communism!
The victory of the October Revolutions in Russia and China and the achievements of socialism in these two countries have a valuable positive and negative teachings which without an accurate recognition of them, the socialist revolutions in other countries would face numerous difficulties and will be compelled to start everything from “squire one” which in that case it would be a greatest mistake because, they remain careless regarding the proletarian practice in other countries.
In this manner, it is the responsibility of the genuine communists to incisively and with full enthusiasm, defend the October Revolution and socialist construction in Russia and at the same time, criticize the inaccuracies of the communists and the proletariats in their lack of emphasis in the continuation of the class struggle and so on after the victory of the revolution in a rational manner and more accurately recognized. It is only in this manner that the teachings of the revolutions under the leadership of the proletariat and the construction of socialism would help further the perception of the communists. And in the countries where the proletarian revolution will become victorious, to a certain limit, what are to be done and what are not to be done issues would be clarified and despite the existence of the class struggle in them, less mistakes would occur.
Ablaze torch of the October Revolution is so shining over the present captive and slave world. We must consistently elate this torch and under its rayon, decisively advance the revolution. The barking (or yowling) of the bourgeoisie and the petite bourgeoisie can never be the obstacle against the shining of the sun of socialism and the more we advance in the history, the more putrefaction of global capitalism that even for breathing and living has become inauspicious, its barbarism become clearer and the closer with reaching to its death every day. And this fact promises the trend of fetidness of this anti-human system and the certain victory of socialism. The October Revolution and the first socialist country will be alive in the heart of the world’s workers and toilers.
