Offcourse the SLA where idiots but damn, that's one gripping movie...

As dumb as they were they had some large cajones. They were like the Cliff Notes version of the weather underground on steroids.

The Weather Underground undertook "foco" actions such as the Days of Rage. The Symbionese Liberation Army not only kidnapped Patty Hearst, but also assassinated the first African-American superintendent of Oakland's public schools, Marcus Foster. They may have possessed cojones but they had no regard for either the balance of social forces or any desire to form links with any mass organizations. The tragic results were pretty much pre-ordained.

Thats where the cliff notes part of my post meant. They were a severely dumbed down version of the WU(ie:they were morons). Having cajones does not equal smarts.

True that. The SLA was adventuristic and Custeristic to the degree that they objectively helped the ruling class.
