Is it legal, by international law, for a nation to supply rebels in another country? I am not talking about the moral or ethical aspect, only the legal one.

Forget the term "international law". International law is the law of powerful states. So they define what is legal what is not legal. Such a question makes no sense. I am sorry. There is no higher authority which is above all states and independent to define legality or judge something.

Well, the wars in Afghanistan and Irak have both been declared illegal wars.. And the UN does have a set of rules by witch all must play (If they do or not is irrelevant).

There were rules before Iraq and Afghanistan invasions too, which were disobeyed. So they mean nothing, new or old.

Just look at how so called "No-Fly Zone" was implemented in Libya.

There is no international law. Forget about UN. They are all scene plays.

war is only bound by technology and social conditions, anything else is just for show.

it depends how the UN classifies the group in question. specifically, whether or not the UN classifies them as a terrorist organization. it's illegal to arm alleged terrorists, it's legal to arm groups that aren't considered terrorists.
