Has anyone done this? It's a 500 mile hike across Spain that takes about a month. I'm going to be doing it with my grandfather in May. I'm excited because I've never been out of the US before, and I'll get to see a lot of Spanish history. I'm particularly excited to see the Moorish architecture. If anyone here has done it, what are you experiences/thoughts?

You'll be walking across an incredibly beautiful part of Spain. Picos de Europa in particular is amazing:

Nah, I went to that part of Spain when I was a kid. My dad wants to do it though, so maybe one day...

If you're walking through the north (basque country, Cantabria, Asturias, Galicia) you won't see a lot of Moorish architecture. They never made it that far.

I know that we're going to be going through Galicia and basque country but I think we're also going to the south too. I think my grandfather said we're going to skip a couple parts that aren't as scenic (he's done this three times now) and also see some parts that aren't a part of the camino. I wish we were going through Catalonia so I could see some civil war history but alas, I'm just as excited anyway.

Oh Moorish architecture is beautiful. I went to Spain once when I was younger and it was the most impressive part of the whole trip. Grenada and Cordoba are musts if you are interested in Moorish architecture.

Update: We're gonna have ten days after the hike to rent a car and do whatever the fuck we wanna do in Spain. Of course, as a leftist, my first thought was Catalonia. Is there anywhere to see some good history on the Spanish civil war there? What else do you recommend seeing, historically speaking. I'm a history nerd/museum type guy.
